This is our first Ocean cruise experience and it was absolutely wonderful! Our cabin was roomy and I was impressed about how the storage space was designed. The bed was really comfy and the bathroom was large for a stateroom. Although electrical outlets in the bathroom were only for razors or toothbrushes, there were ample 220 and 110 outlets in the main cabin. I really enjoyed having a port to ...

We had heard from friends and read reviews about Viking Ocean cruises. I wanted to go to Norway and visit my cousins I had never met after the cruise ended in Bergen. I also love the history of Russia so we thought the Viking Homelands cruise was the best for us. And all came true for us. We loved our Explorer Suite. We did have our cabin steward remove a couple of chairs. He was amazing and made ...

"The Old Boat"

Summary: This is a great ship for an old person who likes wine and doesn't care about entertainment. If this isn't you, it's not much fun. Also, by the time you add up the cost of airfare, all the excursions and gratuities, you aren't much below the cost of a luxury cruise line like Regent. IMO this ship is not a good value. Even though my wife and I did enjoy the cruise, that was because of ...

We had heard great things about Viking Ocean cruises and we had always wanted to see Scandinavia and Northern Europe. The Viking Homelands cruise was our post-retirement celebration and it was well worth it! We saw 8 countries and 11 ports of call over 15 days. We saw historic cities we had always wanted to see such as Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Berlin and Copenhagen and we had three ...

We had done the Grand European River Cruise in 2018 and we were so impressed with Viking that we decided to try one of their ocean cruises. We liked the itinerary of the Nordic Homelands cruise and it did not disappoint. Every port was a great experience and the included tours brought each city to life with information about their history. We spent an additional 5 days in Stockholm before the ...

We had taken a Viking River cruise and loved. I wasn't sure what to expect on there smaller ocean ships. It was and incredible surprise. They offers so much entertainment and the staff was prefect, after several days you were on a first name basis, every staff member spoke English which was very nice, you wanted for absolutely nothing. Port excursions were excellent and well organized. Being 67 I ...

This was a great experience! The itinerary was excellent as were the tour guides. We took the included tour in each port and then some of the optional tours that you pay for. The guides on the included tours were as good as, and in some cases even better than, the guides on the optional tours. The main restaurant and Manfredi's were our favorites. We did not enjoy our meal at the Chef's ...

Viking Cruise on the Baltic

We both have Baltic roots so this was a homecoming of sorts. Viking offers the right combination of entertainment and educational activities for us. Entertainment was geared toward baby-boomer generation which was fine for us but may not be for everyone. We would have liked more opportunity to dance (i.e., larger venue). We learned a lot from the lectures. The combination of several cities and ...

Wanted to go to the Baltic and liked the itinerary Viking offered. Had been on a Viking River cruise and liked it, so thought we would give the Viking Ocean a try. We were very impressed with the ship and the crew. The included shore excursions were very good. The food was excellent. Viking has brought the same level of service to the ocean that it did for the rivers. I especially liked the ...

Having enjoyed river cruises with Viking before, this was our first Viking Ocean Cruise. Everything about it was absolute quality. The ship was a joy in every way. Staff could not have been more helpful, our stateroom stewards were excellent, the restaurant manager was outstanding, and the entertainment first rate. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say. The scenery was breathtaking, ...
