We are 50 and way too young for this cruise

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Venus

Loved the ship, the itinerary, the staff, the stateroom but did not like the fellow passengers. They were old, rude, selfish, and slow. For the money we paid we should have not felt judged - but since we were one of the youngest couples celebrating our 25 year anniversary- we were given the side eye most of the cruise - we made the most of it but the entertainment and pace and flow of the cruise ...

Wonderful cruise in the Baltic and Scandinavia areas

Viking is extremely well organized and the service is for the most part excellent. All of the shore excursion guides were very good for both the included and optional tours--our only negative was that there was not enough time allowed in a number of the museums to see more of the exhibits after listening to the guide's narrations. Tours operate rain or shine but umbrellas are provided. We were ...

Lovely trip to some out of the way places

We returned from our Scenic Scandinavia cruise on the Jupiter, and decided to pen a few thoughts here. I'll do good and not so good. The not so good part is very small indeed. Good:- The ship was beautiful and in impeccable condition. We thought the food was better than on previous trips too. The World cafe always had a good selection, and the lobster and prime rib night was fantastic. They ...

Quick voyage through Viking Homelands

We chose this cruise to get a better feeling for Scandinavia. We were disappointed that our time in Oslo was reduced and Gothenburg was introduced. We wished there were fewer ports and more time in the ports. We felt the included tours were very rushed and often difficult for anyone older or mobility challenged. Viking used to offer an easy level. As always the food on the ship and the ...

Beautiful Itinerary

We chose this cruise because we have Finnish heritage. Unfortunately, because of the Ukraine war with Russia, Russia and Finland were removed from the itinerary. Bornholm was added, but was also removed, ostensibly because of bad weather (or pipeline sabotage)? Sweden, Poland, Germany, and Norway were lovely and clean. We were happy to see the use of clean energy, high level of recycling, ...

This was not a Mediterranean Cruise as the lead-in shows. This was the last two segments (39 days) of an Around the World Cruise that started in January. We were on the first segment at the beginning and there were a significant number of changes and cancellations on that cruise along with serious COVID restrictions. We were booked on the original last two segments, Cape Town to New York. Since ...

We wanted to see the Baltic countries. We often visit northern climates and locations. We were especially excited to see St. Petersburg. The itinerary had to be revised because of the Ukraine invasion, which was understandable but still disappointing. Unfortunately, the changes to the itinerary were not equivalent to missing Helsinki, St. Petersburg, and Tallinn. Oslo was a welcome addition, ...

Scandinavian cruise

The cruise was nice, but it fell a little short of my expectations. Most all of the staff was very friendly, but being in the explorer suite we expected a little more of a personable experience like we have received on other cruise lines. Our suite had several mechanical issues (we got locked out of our room twice, tv was serviced three times but still did not work properly, outside door hatch ...

Favorites were Norway and St. Petersburg.

We chose the cruise for several reasons: husband's ancestors are Finnish, had never been to the Scandinavian or the Baltic countries, and friends' recommendation. We found the excursions to be excellent, and we learned a great deal about the Viking culture and heritage. Specifically the excursions in Norway, St. Petersburg, Aalborg, Gdansk, and Tallin gave us insight in to the culture, ...

Good but not great

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Seabourn Ovation

I choose this ship for two reasons. One I liked the itinerary and two I wanted to try a luxury cruise line. The itinerary was good in that it started in Stockholm allowing me to spend two days before departure exploring the city without rushing and it ended in Copenhagen where I did the same thing. It also included two overnights ( 3 full days) in St. Petersburg where there is so much to see. I ...
