Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Nautica

Destination, ports and season always win out over cruiseline loyalty. 12 days Stockholm to Southampton. 3 days in St. Petersburg was the highlight. Booked 3 day small group tour with Russian agent. Elisabeth of TJ Tours was outstanding! Recommend Nautica overnights in Stockholm Amsterdam and Copenhagen and to include a port in Norway to see the fjords.. Oceania does offer best cuisine at sea. ...

We took an Athens-Rome Mediterranean cruise on Marina in 2017. Loved the ship and the experience. We purchased this cruise on board. Nautica is much smaller than Marina but is dated and lacks the feeling of space and luxury of Marina. Embarkation at Stockholm was quick but there was no welcome cocktail. Our room (B2) on deck 6 was adequate. The bathroom was tiny and had only a shower ...

Overall we had a lovely vacation and enjoyed the ports of call...We also met some wonderful people to spend time with...Suite upgrade we paid for was well worth it and were very happy with the room layout...Our butler and his assistant very helpful...Was expecting above and beyond when it came to quality of food but not the case...On 3 separate occasions I ordered filet mignon at various ...

Terrific Memories Created

The itinerary and the suite determined our choice criteria. We were disappointed in the food. While it was incredibly presented. The quality and portion size were very average or just par. The service everywhere was fantastic, as was everything but the food. They would have receptions where the alcohol was plentiful but not serve food or you would see a few trays get passed that were consumed ...

They need to supply tea making facilities in cabin. Butler service is about 30 mins for a cuppa. Had problems with water not being hot enough for cup of tea with room service and in restaurants. Complained and they did try, but some were a bit smart about it. Food not always hot. Room service breakfast was often just warm or cold. Toast was cold and like concrete. Pizzas dreadful. Pub ...

We were expecting a lot from this cruise based on ratings and friends and travel agent recommendations. We previously cruised 5 times on Oceania, so can't help but to compare. First the positives, the service at the bar and restaurants from waiters were exceptional, staff seemed happy, relaxed, efficient and everywhere. The quality of wine and hard liquor were top class. If you do not like the ...

We chose this cruise do to past experience with Viking river cruises and their excellent service. It also had the itinerary we wanted. The ship is only 3 years old and in perfect condition. Really appreciate the free water bottles and included beer and wine at lunch and dinner. Staff spoke excellent English and addressed any needs that came up. Also appreciate the smaller passenger count and very ...

We chose Viking because of it's fine reputation for quality and service. The smaller ship size made the trip more intimate with a relaxed atmosphere free from queueing and crowds. We chose this particular cruise as it had ports in both Karen's and my homelands. So, we had an opportunity to visit our roots. Unfortunately, due to winds???? the Captain cancelled our stop in Gdansk Poland. Being ...

We are Interested in the Nordic countries and the Baltic. Also Findland, Russia and Poland. Food was very good but the standard white wine (a French Blanchard was not very good). It would have been nice to very the complimentary wines. Service was very good particularly room service. We were disappointed we missed Gdańsk Poland because of weather. Our room steward was excellent. The free ...

Outstanding Tours and Ports

We chose this cruise for the itinerary and for the Viking reputation. I was somewhat disappointed with the stage entertainment - specifically the the costumes for the women did not fit properly and one of the men in a tuxedo with no socks. The dining room waitstaff was also a disappointment. With all the pomp of presenting the menus in foreign languages, the waitstaff does not serve form ...
