Once more before the stretch

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Star Legend

Two years ago Windstar announced the plan to stretch the Star ships increasing the guest capacity from 210 guests to 310 guests. We love the small size and hope that the increase in size doesn’t change the friendly atmosphere on the ship. We looked forward to another small ship experience before the scheduled stretch. Ship is still beautiful. The gorgeous woodwork, marble bathrooms, and ...

Our first Windstar cruise & would absolutely do another one. Smaller ship a plus

Windstar has only 6 ships so and they are small ships focused on going to areas the bigger ships cannot get to. While the ship itself is a little dated, it is slated for a big makeover this summer which is explained here: https://www.windstarcruises.com/starplus/. The cabins are suites with a sofa, chairs, a desk, a full bathtub and a walk-in closet – plenty of room for the 2 of us. There is a ...

Wonderful cruise, with a few glitches

This is basically a wonderful ship, with a few glitches. It was recently bought by Windstar and is due to a major renovation/refit in 2020, so these comments might not apply to later sailings. This is a small ship with huge cabins. The staff and officers are very competent and caring. Food was somewhat variable, ranging from OK to very good. Prices were affordable considering the size and ...

Great Back-to-Back Caribbean Cruise

Just as a bit of background, we are a Canadian couple in our mid 50’s from Montreal. This was our 13th cruise having sailed 5 times with Celebrity and now 8 times with Windstar on both the Sailing Ships and Motor Yachts, all in the Caribbean. What keeps us coming back to Windstar is the small size of the ships (and contrary to what some people may say, they will still be small by all standards ...

So many positives on this cruise. The food was fantastic, the crew exceptional and the ship beautiful. I have cruised over 15 times and on this one I brought three other couples. We all agreed the cruise was top rate, The entertainment on deck was perfect. Two issues. On our day we docked in Puerto Rico the boats pool and top deck were closed. The reason was unclear as some said normal ...

Cruising The B.V.I.on Star legend

We booked this cruise for the "small port" experience and the Windstar style of cruising. Also we had not been to the B.V.I. before. We had sailed once to Costa Rica with the ship Wind Star. After a long trip from the west coast, we checked in to the Sheraton Puerto Rico hotel and got some much needed rest. The next morning the Wind Star bus picked us up and we took the short trip to the ship for ...

I’m a bit late with my reviews, time got away from me… My wife and I were on the Star Legend , Windstar Cruse from January 28 - February 4, 2017. I have been on numerous cruises, Norwegian, Carnival, Disney, Celebrity, etc. I wanted to do a cruise for my birthday and had originally planned to go on Celebrity. I very much like Celebrity, their food, wine ships etc. but there weren’t any ...

This small ship is the ONLY way to cruise!

We took this cruise to get a chance to travel with friends and not have to deal with the crowds on the giant ships. And we did have a GREAT time with our friends! With so few passengers and so many crew, you get a chance to get to know other travelers and you also receive EXCELLENT service! Never again will we choose the big ships. No lines at all from start to finish. There were ...

Star Legend is a Real Star

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Star Legend

The Star Legend sails in a galaxy far far away from her sister ship, the Star Pride. Windstar has done a superb job of updating the Star Legend, giving new life to an old beauty that was lacking in the Star Pride. The suites are spacious and elegant, full of well-designed features for a pleasant cruise. A curtain divides the suite into a sitting area with sofa and desk, and a sleeping area ...

Amazing ports, great crew, and the ease of a luxurious small ship

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Star Legend

Our main reason for selecting the Windstar Star Legend was the itinerary of generally smaller out of the way ports. We wanted to visit some small islands that we have not had the chance to explore during previous trips and cruises. Admittedly we were the folks who had previously loved voyages on larger cruise ships and enjoyed looking down from our lofty perch at the dock at the poor souls who ...
