Wonderful journey

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Star Flyer

We really loved the sailing element of this Mediterranean cruise, and the feel of being on a small ship. The sails were up most of the time, although I’m not sure how much of our journey was carried out under pure sail rather than ‘motor-sailing’, because of course they do have to keep to schedule. Star Flyer is a beautiful, elegant ship – lots of brass and varnished wood, and neatly coiled ...

7 days is not enough

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Royal Clipper

Though I am not sure I could withstand more - my wife and sister in law and local friends were all set on going and my knee was shot. And the ship had stairs (ladders in nuatical terms) but no elevators. And I use a cane. Not good. Hoofed it to a colleague who shot me up with enough cortisone and marcaine to make me think I was 21 again and away we went. I knew I would pay for it but the other ...

An unforgettable voyage

We have done a couple of cruises on the big ships but wanted something different and we sure did get it with this trip. The Royal Clipper is a sailing ship and we made our way through the Eastern Caribbean region under sail for the entire week. That is not something which you get to do every day. We loved every minute of it. The food - The food was amazing. Breakfast and lunch were buffet ...

Wonderful, Intimate, Small Ship Experience

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Royal Clipper

This was our first time on Star Clippers – a choice we made due to the interesting small port itinerary not typical of larger cruise ships and the fact that it was a working tall ship with a small complement of passengers. The Royal Clipper is hand’s down a fun and dramatic ship to sail on. The fact that they raise the staysails with each port departure and play Vangelis’ Conquest of Paradise ...

Amazing Experience

This was my first time on a Star Clippers cruise. I had been on three big cruise lines but never on a tall ship. The experience far exceeded my expectations and I have already booked my next one. It was absolutely incredible. In fact, when the sails went up for the “sail away” experience on the first night – I would say it was one of the most amazing moments in years of travel. Every sail away was ...

Superb crew and wonderful sailing experience

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Royal Clipper

We chose this cruise because of the opportunity to travel in a sailing ship. It more than fulfilled our expectations, with the ship travelling under sail for much of the journey. The ship itself is beautifully furnished with wood panelling and brass fittings. The weather was fine throughout so we spent a lot of time on deck, but the public rooms were lovely and very relaxing. The ...

West bound Atlantic Crossing

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Star Flyer

Having sailed once before in the Caribbean with Star Flyer we decided on taking it across the Atlantic. The 23 day crossing was a combination of Malaga, Spain to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria (9 days) and Las Palmas to Barbados (14 days). Due to popularity it was over a year from booking to sailing. Cabin 121. 80% of passengers are repeat. We arrived in Malaga 4 days before the cruise, ...

Superb tall ship experience

Review for a Asia Cruise on Star Clipper

This is a great intimate soft adventure but with all the luxuries. We shared the experience with 144 other passengers but you never felt crowded. Every sail away the sails were raised along with emotions. Dining was very good with a six course meal should you choose with full waiter service. Drinks were well priced with house drinks at 3.5 Euro along with an excellent wine list from house ...
