Transatlantic with satisfying number of port stops

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Royal Princess

We chose this cruise because it stopped in many ports in Spain where my daughter is now living. We chose a Transatlantic because for a very busy working couple it was nice to start the cruise with some days at sea where we could totally relax. We especially enjoy Princess on longer cruises because of the self serve laundry. The staff in the main dining room was very attentive as we have ...

Celebrity Silhouette Baltic Cruise including St. Petersburg and Berlin

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

12 night Celebrity Silhouette of Baltic ports (including 2 days in St. Petersburg) The ship is great and everyone was super friendly. We were Concierge class in Stateroom 1076 (midship balcony on 10th floor) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We have cruised many times on various lines including Celebrity. (I agree that they have been cost cutting. Years ago the cruise would have had ...

Royal Princess missed the boat

Royal Princess ……only one year old, ship was a design mess...elevators impossible to figure out and no center stairwell.. we would often take an elevator down in order to go up...no games room..library is an embarrassment, probably the size of a small bedroom ...theatre has no outside isles, feels unsafe...restaurant food unimaginative and inconsistent ..one day the soup would be great, the next ...

Bigger is not better, or even very good

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Royal Princess

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

I recently took a cruise on the Royal Princess. I chose the cruise because of the itinerary: it was the only cruise including Scandinavia and the Baltics that started and ended in St. Petersburg, enabling me to spend more than the usual cruise-offered one or two nights in St. Petersburg, and to go to Moscow as well. I had cruised with Princess once before, on the former Renaissance ship Pacific ...

This was our first cruise with Uniworld  our expectations due to the purchase price of the cruise was very high..our experience was however very disappointing.the disclaimer Uniworld uses in describing the Russian cruise verses their other all Uniworld cruises is ridiculously inappropriate. The boat was nice but looked nothing like the boats on the Uniworld website.the food was good for the most ...

Viking River Cruise: Waterways of the Czars

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Embla

This was our second river cruise with Viking: the first was in southern France. In both cruises, the service and ship were exceptionable. In Russia, the staff was superb. The tour guides who were with us for the duration were well-trained, highly informed, creative, friendly, considerate, and spoke English perfectly. The local tour guides were also excellent. The food was very good, although ...

We used Viking air and joined about 15 other couples on the optional Helsinki Finland pre-cruise. Viking provides a city tour on the first day and then the next two days are free time. The Radisson hotel was just ok, and the local Viking hotel guides, that were stationed there were not very helpful. We had wonderful weather and stayed in Helsinki the entire time. A great city to take time out and ...

Arrived at the prescribed dock in Stockholm, ship was not there. Discovered it was at another dock in a different part of the port. Finally arrived at the correct location after $100 frantic cab drive and was informed that they could not get into the dock we had been advised to use. Many other passengers with the same problem. I asked the service mgr to reimburse the$100 and he advised that he ...

New River Victoria

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on River Victoria

User Avatar

Impressions of the ship: It is brand new inside - refurbished from head to toe. The outside, however, is the same (oldish) ship that every other tour company uses. It seems that the Russians built one basic hull for this purpose, and there are many in service on the rivers. I didn't feel that any of the Viking or Grand Circle ships that we saw docked alongside ours were nicer in any way. One ...
