We went with a group of 60 or so. Vast majority were first timers with the exception of our travel agent, her assistant and their husbands. The ship was just great. Beautiful and nostalgic. An altogether pleasant vacation experience. This ship is small, that is why we selected her. Her ports of call (except St.Kitts) were devoid of any large cruise ships. We and another couple of our sailing friends embarqed on a weeks cruise in paradise. As sailors, we were not interested in the usual cruise ship with thousands of passengers, but to be under sail with a small group going to ports that the mega cruise ships can't access. Windstar cruise is a very nice ship with excellent staff,but not 5 star. We have traveled on Silversea, Reagent, and Tauck river cruises which do a better job pampering you and earn a 5 star. Windstar says they recently renovated but the carpets in the cabins has not been changed.
