First U.S. river cruise and this was absolutely delightful. The staterooms and the entire boat was furnished in antique furniture combined with modern appointments. This being our fifth trip on the American Queen we had high expectations. And once again they were fulfilled. The service is excellent, the food wonderful and plentiful and very available. The shows are wonderfully staged. The onboard ensemble is as talented as we have come to expect. The Band, Steamboat Syncopators, as always was the finest. We just returned from a riverboat cruise up the Mississippi, from St. Louis to St. Paul on the American Queen steamboat. What a relaxing way to travel on the Mississippi.
