What could be better than cruising the Mississippi in with the glorious colors of fall in October? This cruise was beautiful and relaxing and was a Mark Twain cruise. An actor portraying Mark Twain gave talks about the river and his time. There was also a tea with him for a more intimate setting. A husband and wife talked about the river and entertained at night. Local musical talent was also ...

My wife and I chose this cruise because the Upper Mississippi River is so beautiful and the cities along the way, quaint and charming. American Cruise Lines offered just what we wanted. Their ship, American Melody one of their newest, was extraordinary. We started our journey in St Louis and traveled to Hannibal, MO the home of Mark Twain. "Mark" joined our cruise and gave lectures and tours on ...

We’ve always wanted to cruise along the Mississippi River, and we’re glad we did it with American Cruise Line. It was an enjoyable and relaxing cruise experience. We had a terrific guest speaker, Bobby Durham, who not only gave port talks, but also entertained us with his banjo. Piano players Greg on the first 7 days and Jeff on the second 7 days were very talented and kept us tapping our toes ...

I'd never had a chance to see the heartland of the U.S., so this was the perfect getaway. The two weeks on the Upper Mississippi gave me an appreciation of the beauty of this part of the country...and the incredible Mississippi. Having sailed with American Cruise Lines before, I knew to expect wonderful service from the staff, tasty offerings from the chef, and meaningful excursions including ...

PRE-CRUISE -- This bucket list cruise was from Red Wing Minnesota to New Orleans, the entire Mississippi River. There was an included pre-cruise Hotel night at the St. Paul Hotel. The hotel was great! However, we were responsible for our own airline tickets and our transfer from the airport to the hotel. We each then had a Covid swab test prior to boarding the next day. The hotel concierge was ...

A Mississippi paddlewheeler cruise has been on my bucket list for years, and this was the perfect time to go. The ship, American Cruise Lines America, is perfect in size, layout, crew, food and entertainers. Our cabin was spacious, light and comfortable, on Deck 2, which I found to be the perfect location, close enough to lounges, but also in a quiet spot. Every meal was delicious, with choices ...

The Boat was dirty, bug infested, food was fair, service was terrible, speaker was clueless to anything about our destinations. Time in port was very short, if you got on 2nd bus for a tour, you missed out on most of the tour do to lack of time. Entertainment started out pretty good, by the end of trip it is not so good. People were nice, however, they were always apologizing for lack of ...

I wanted to travel to upper Mississippi to 4 states I had not visited. The cruise was promoted as Fall Foliage on the Upper Mississippi. My group had been planning for this trip for over a year. The route was changed due to flooding, and we were officially notified AFTER the boat left St Louis port. Management knew the situation and could have notified us before we flew from NC to St Louis the ...

Wanted to do a river cruise, but didn't want to fly to Europe. Shopped for itineraries, and decided on the Mississippi. Shopped Cruise lines and decided on American Cruise Line. It was a really good package, including a pre-cruise hotel in St. Louis, all-inclusive cocktails and wine, highly rated cuisine, relatively new river boat, and an itinerary that sounded interesting. All-in-all, it ...
