Everything went smoothly with this cruise. the pick up arrangements at the airport, the check-in for the ship at a hotel and the access to to ship and cabin.
A week in the sunshine (in Jan/Feb) helped but our memories are of a very pleasant trip, with no hassle and easy access (via courtesy bus) to all the ports and towns/cities without doing any formal excursions.

Was our first cruise. So can only talk absolute, not relative!
Was a good ship with neat well planned cabins. Efficient housekeeping would keep them clean. TV channels extremely limited and could have more on offer.bathrooms in cabin are small but one can adjust easily in them.

Some of the reviews for the Splendour remind me a bit of reviews I read about Monarch of the Seas a few years back just before it was sold. The Monarch proved to be a well-run happy ship and the same was true of Splendour.

I have just returned from my 6th Cruise and 2nd with RCI. I chose this cruise mainly for the Price and Destination offered and all in all was very good value for money.
Splendour is nearly 20 years old and on its last season before transferring to Thomson (where it will greatly improve their fleet). Some people mentioned it was tired looking but i didn't think this was the case.

This was our second Royal Caribbean experience the first being the Voyager of the Seas in November last year.

Splendour of the Seas has been sold to Thomsons for April 2016, but the ship was fine and no obvious sign of the ship under Royal Caribbean being run down.

We decided not to travel far this Christmas, being a UAE resident boarding the cruise on Dec 19th was easy as it was a simple taxi journey from home which was very convenient.
