Decent cruise, but ships should be fixed when they need to be fixed

Review for Crown Princess to Caribbean - Southern

We wanted to celebrate our 48th anniversary and we've always enjoyed Princess. Our experience on the Island Princess and now the Crown means we'll only use Princess if it is a newer ship. We had fun on the cruise. We did any time dining and shared tables and every meal we met great folks, had good conversations and decent, sometimes great food. Our room was a mini suite and while old, it was ...

For it being a revolutionized ship on it's second cruise, I was disappointed to see the unfinished patches on the pool deck, the broken elevator all cruise, the sloppy veranda rail varnish job, and the strange decor. Also thought the main dining and buffet food were sub-par. Best food we had on ship was at the Lawn Club Grill and we ate there 4 times because of menu selection in main dining. ...

Mostly misses, very few hits. Would never do Panama again.

First cruise on Holland America but 20th cruise overall. Wanted to see the Panama Canal and we selected Zuiderdam. I have avoided HAL for years and confirmed that this is not the cruise line for me. Embarkation went very smoothly in Ft. Lauderdale. Ship is older and smaller than what we have sailed on recently but it is in very good condition. The ship has three sets of elevators where ...

Deadbeat cruise

This was a dud of a cruise. Too many old people, wrong age range for us, no energy. Bad music, bad entertainment, non existent cruise director. The shore excursions did not do what was advertised, one was canceled. We will be reluctant to go with celebrity again and will not book tours through the ship. The highlight of the trip was our dining room waiter and wine steward. Great service ...

Cruise on the Explorer of the Sea on 2/21/20 We cruised the Explorer of the Sea on 2/21/20 for a nine day cruise. We flew to Ft. Lauderdale and used the Royal Caribbean shuttle for Ft. Lauderdale to Miami. Our plane landed on the day of the cruise at 9 AM and after picking up our luggage we went to the RC desk down by the luggage area and was advised that the bus would be leaving at 11:30 AM ...

We chose this cruise for it's itinerary. The days at sea combined with Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire was very appealing. We had not been on Royal Caribbean in quite a few years and wanted to give it another try. We were satisfied with the cruise but nothing was so good that we would plan on returning to Royal Caribbean. The ship felt so small. The public spaces were always crowded and we had ...

We chose this cruise for Southern Caribbean itinerary and we were going with neighbors. We did a B2B so we stayed on it an extra week. We were anxious to go on this ship after the refit and the reviews for good. Our expectations must have been too high because it did not compare at all to the Reflection we were on 2 years ago. There was no library and no place to play cards and games. The food ...

We had room 3512 which is an ocean view. It turned out to be two portholes. The room was OK but very noisy. At night you could here the main theater even though we were on deck 3 and it was on deck 5. Every morning we were at a port the noise in the morning was crazy. Thrusters and anchor. Our cabin steward was excellent. Walls were very thin. Overall the service on the ship was ...

We chose this ship based on ports. This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise. We have sailed with NCL, Celebrity, and Carnival. Pros: we arrived at the port, checked our bags, and within 15 minutes we were on the ship. The food at the windjammer was delicious. Same with the main dining room. Very flavorful. Our cabin, 4045, was always spotless and quiet even though it is located down the hall ...

We had a balcony stateroom on the port side, 9520, and we loved it. First balcony from the front on the 9th floor, so nobody on our right side as we looked out. It was very quiet. Just two lawn chairs and a table, though, because the balconies are too small for loungers. In Haiti and Bonaire, we faced out to sea while in port, in Aruba and Curaçao, we faced the port. As far as food goes, next ...
