About Us: We are 60 and recently retired. This was our 28th cruise but only our 2nd on Holland America. We sailed with them to Alaska in 2008 and had a marvelous time.
Pros: The ship was immaculate. Embarkation and debarkation were effortless. Cabin was ready at 12:30. Balcony cabin was clean, well designed and the shower was fantastic. Loved the chairs on the balcony. Anytime dining ...
Just got off the Carnival Horizon april 2024. I have been on other Carnival cruises in the past and this was a shock. Carnival is not a cruise ship, it is drunken party boat. The atmosphere on the ship makes you wonder if some of the passengers had ever been taught manners. Carnival has cut so many corners that they have gone down hill fast. The ship is not kept clean. Walking around you see more ...
Thanks to Covid restrictions and other family travels, this was our first cruise in nearly 5 years. We had cruised twice before on Equinox and were a little concerned that the ship might have changed considerably. However, we needn't have worried as everything was more or less as we remembered it! Our only gripe was that most of our favourite, and quiet (!), sunbathing spots were now reserved ...
The MSC Seaside is a nice enough ship, we saw good entertainment on board, and our excursions purchased through MSC were great. We chose the ship because of the itinerary.
The FOOD on MSC, however, was a massive disappointment- our rating score reflects how we feel about our food experience.
Both in the Main Dining Room and in the buffet, our food was often not hot enough, bland, or ...
We’ve spent the last year “comparing” luxury cruise lines, sailing in the Retreat on Celebrity several times (including the maiden voyage of the new Ascent) and testing out Regent’s brand new Seven Seas Grandeur . . . While we enjoyed them all, we believe our 2 voyages on Seabourn Ovation to be significantly better in almost every respect. The Ovation, launched in 2018, was the “oldest ship” we’ve ...
Pluses
+ Good intinary
+ Ports are unique and don't typically see on 7 days trips
+ Some of the entertainment staff were exceptional at there jobs
+ Main dining room food was good but not great
+ No ferrying required at ports
Minuses
- Over priced for the money we paid
- Ship is very old and rough condition. Should be retired
- Geared towards Spanish language ...
The cruise was ok. Getting on and off at ports was fairly easy and quick. There was a lot to choose from once you were off the ship. The excursions offered on board were much more expensive than if you just got off and got one of the ones they were selling at the ports. There were not as many activities as we liked on board and their "main" area was not big at all. There were not many bigger pools ...
We had a simply wonderful time on Reflection this past week. It was our first time sailing with Celebrity and it won't be our last! A few notes:
We spent two nights in at the Courtyard at Fort Lauderdale Beach prior to the cruise. We had a stupendous view and really enjoyed watching ships coming in and seeing the Reflection waiting for us on the second morning. We had a King Junior Suite ...
As a past cruiser with Celebrity for the past twenty years I am saddened to report that the cruise line had gone downhill in terms of food variety, entertainment, and staffing in an obvious way to save money while raising prices.
The fault in not on the staff, the are friendly and helpful and always smiling, and they keep the ship clean and safe.
However, in the mdr the appetizers except ...
We love this class of ship. So many great venues. We’ve sailed on Ovation before and were really excited as Odyssey is even larger and has a couple additional places to dine or drink. We are a bit disappointed in the overall lack of appealing entertainment with some terrific venues being underutilized. Two70 sits eerily quiet during the day on sea days whereas Ovation had some live music. The ...
