Hubbie and I booked this to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It is the best value for money to see the French Polynesian islands hands down. The crew was outstanding and the mix/ diversity of guests was wonderful. Made some life long friendships in just 7 days. Loved the semi-casual nature of the ship, the itinerary, excursion options, entertainment and food on the private motus and of course the ...
I had researched this cruise for 3 years and I knew the ship was 25 years old this year so we expected an older ship. However, upon arrival, we were greeted with the kindest smiles and a beautiful ship that was recently remodeled. We stayed on Deck 4 with a window view, which was perfect for us as we were hardly ever in the room. We spent lots of time by the pool. We went directly to the spa and ...
Like several other reviewers, we had sailed with Oceania on 5 occasions before the "pandemic" and rebooked based on those experiences.
This is clearly a company where the dead hand of remote corporate policy wonks is at work, setting procedures and practices on the ships with absolutely no clue of what going on at the operational, customer facing level. Penny pinching ad nauseum.
This was an ...
We were excited to take this smaller cruise ship in the French Polynesia Islands and had read many reviews indicating what a luxury cruise line this was with excellent cuisine and more intimate since the ship is smaller. The staff working onboard are terrific and attentive to every detail. The ship itself is beautiful with updated decor making this very appealing, especially since this is an ...
Wonderful destinations on this cruise between Fiji and Papeete. The crew and the fellow passengers was delightful and easy to talk to. The food was very good but could perhaps be a bit more adventurous - even people in the 60+ segment nowadays appreciate a bit more spicy food, the food was more safe and blend. However the one thing that really was not up to standard on this cruise was the ...
We were a party of three on the 14 day Marquesas, Tuamotus & Society Islands trip. As previous Ponant passengers (Antarctica and the Kimberley), we felt that this trip was more akin to a Ponant "expedition", the format of which we absolutely love.
We can't speak highly enough of our experience on this expedition. While our stateroom on the PG was a tiny bit dated (dark wood instead of the ...
Pluses
+Very comfortable cabin with plenty of storage room
+Great service (except for IT)
+Food was excellent, even the buffets
+Despite the ship being 25 yrs old it was remodeled well
Negatives
-Extremely slow wi-fi. We were only using it for work related reasons (no streaming, gaming etc.) but it a took long time for emails to pull up or attachments to open.
-We had free ...
This is our third cruise with Oceania and they over-delivered again. Here is what went right:
1) Oceania shore excursions on Bora-Bora/Raietea were on point and cost effective. Recommend:
-Vanilla farm/Pearl Farm tour with meal "Tahaa Cultural Experience" (best prices in Tahiti for fresh vanilla beans @ 3800xpf/50grams). Fantastic hula show on same tour with great meal with free rum ...
Hey there, It took me a while to write this review as I had to calm down and make sure I was in the right frame of mind to write my review. For those of you that are diehard Oceania cruiser’s, sorry but you’re truly missing the boat. I planned my cruise for almost a full year as it was a Bucket list cruise (can never afford to do this Cruise again). Sydney to the South Pacific, wish I could say it ...
We chose this cruise primarily for the itiniary and except for the New Zealand ports (Auckland and Bay of Islands) everything was new to us. There is no doubt that sailing on a luxury ship like Silver Shadow through Melanesia, Micronesia and the Philippines can't get any better and Silversea did an excellent job choreographing the whole process.
This was our first Silversea experience as we've ...
