Felt Underwhelmed for the Price

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Regatta

We were on the Regatta from Australia to New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa x 2 and French Polynesia. My feedback is as follows: 1. Staff - very friendly and generally eager to please. However, tend to be a number who lack training, so service is variable. 2. Cabins - please don't pretend they are state rooms, it insults the passengers! Generally basic, but good enough, but shower area is tiny. Bigger ...

Our first cruise - Bali to Singapore The plus points Good food in Aqua restaurant Staff excellent One or two shows good Lectures good The negatives Cramped cabin - could barely get past end of bed Tiny balcony - oils only just get 2 chairs and a table on it Cramped bathroom - Overpriced excursions False excision descriptions - eg - “small group walking tour” was ...

OK, but not great

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Island Princess

We chose the Half World cruise as a way to escape winter and to get to the Arab countries where we wanted to tour. Cruising is always pleasant and so my rating is relative to other cruises we've done. Generally the food was ok (what you might expect at Denny's) and the ride not to bad (for us) even when the seas were rough. But nothing was impressive and the entertainment was VERY lame. You can ...

Pre-Covid we cruised on this ship around Japan and had the very best of times. So on 23rd December 2023 we sailed from Singapore to Bali via Thailand and Malaysia. We has a 9th floor balcony room and Aqua class dining. Days before departure Celebrity sent me an incomprehensible email about electronic on arrival visa for Bali. I spoke to Celebrity UK and was told to ignore as this was for US and ...

First Leg of B2B HNL to PPT

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

This was the first 12 days of a 24 day B2B HNL to PPT then Return to HNL. I was not impressed. The beds in both rooms were uncomfortable with linen that smelled funny, like dirty socks. I found this smell was prevalent throughout the ship, including the dishes, silverware and napkins in every restaurant. Not sure what water process was used for water purification, but it left a rancid smell on ...

We set-out on an much anticipated cruise for our anniversary. Onboarding in Honolulu Hawaii after an early arrival to see Pear Harbor. It was thought provoking, sad and certainly worth the history lesson. Off we go to Maui, thankfully this island was still on the itinerary and we were able to see the beauty of Maui above water and below. Our excursion via catamaran to Molokini Crater and ...

Old Ship - Poor Public Areas/Entertainment/Service

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Volendam

Selected this cruise to celebrate my wife's retirement. She wanted to sail to/through French Polynesia. First HA cruise. Despite the warnings about HA appealing to an older demographic (average age is 70), that has not been a problem at all. But after many cruises on Princess & Celebrity, the level of service particularly in the restaurant has been disappointing. The menu descriptions bear no ...

Terrible Food and Lame Entertainment

The food in Cafe Blu was horrible. I am a plant eater mostly. My choices were limited and tasteless. My husband found the meats in the Ocean View Cafe to be over cooked. I have noticed on our last 3 cruises with Celebrity that the quality of food has gone down. The entertainment has always been slow, but enjoyable. However, during this cruise the entertainment was unimaginative. I felt like the ...

No Duty of Care

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Coral Princess

*Princess contacted us as the previous cruise had been cancelled. (BNE to BNE) They offered BNE to Syd, we declined. The first red flag was when we were given a 'personal cruise advisor, not in Australia but the US' What? The time zone made it impossible for us to communicate at a suitable time. Messages constantly missed, therefore had to wait for the next opportunity to speak. This ...

What has gone so wrong?

Like several other reviewers, we had sailed with Oceania on 5 occasions before the "pandemic" and rebooked based on those experiences. This is clearly a company where the dead hand of remote corporate policy wonks is at work, setting procedures and practices on the ships with absolutely no clue of what going on at the operational, customer facing level. Penny pinching ad nauseum. This was an ...
