Excellent choice of ports. Princess has good value and consistent and organized product. Food is excellent but occasionally disappoints. Good coffee still seems to be a weakness although café bar at extra charge is a nice touch. Value added features are pushed and not good value for money especially excursions. The holiday was part of my wife's 80th birthday celebration.
Having been several cruises with other companies we wanted to try out the Celebrity Cruise line. Also we had never before been through the Suez Canal.
We spent a few days in Rome (a city we are familiar with) before the cruise and then a few days in Dubai (a new experience) at the end. Seen it now - wouldn't go back!

Dining service has slipped, evening entertainment in lounge is not very entertaining for a late night crowd. Butler service, Rommel and his assistant Vipen, were exceptional. No binoculars in room and no lectures on board ship prior to ports.

We were interested in visiting the ancient ruins in Athens, Petra, and Luxor. The Silversea pre and post cruise Hotels were were excellent. We enjoyed the Muse. Good value for money. Very disappointed that Happy Hour had been taken off all Princess Cruises. Food was great. I have noticed portion size has decreased which is a great thing. Our primary reason for choosing this cruise was the cost & a reasonably cheap airfare to fly to Japan. There were not many ports on this repositioning cruise, however many we had not been to for quite some time making it like a new experience.

The free use of the thallasotherapy pool and spas were great. Deck chair hogs were not.
Smoking was allowed on the far corner of the pool deck and the smell was disgusting. Had to hold my breath when I needed to pass through the area. Why not have smoking on an open deck where others do not have to inhale second hand smoke?
