We chose Cunard because it was named as a Northern Lights Cruise. We wanted to see Norway, Northern Lights and Viking Villages.
The Cunard transfers to get to the ship and back were seamless. Great flights, the shuttle service was on time and accommodating both directions. The ship onboard and offboard process was seamless and easy.
The cabin steward and purser staff were very helpful and ...
We recently completed a 14-day Search for the Northern Lights cruise to Norway. Although we had quite a few days with rough seas, the Island Princess handled the seas well. Our cabin was spacious and the balcony was larger than on many ships. Some of the cabin furnishings clearly need to be replaced. Our mini-suite couch and chair looked very worn. The bed also had clear indentations of where ...
We picked the cruise for the destination, it suited our timelines and we wanted to see the Norwegian Fjords.
Overall I was impressed with the cabin and the staff were excellent, the facilities were good, however I did get frustrated at the amount of upselling, be that shops or the facilites on board including the very expensive "speciality dining". Compared to previous cruises with P&O and ...
We departed Southampton and followed Norwegian Prima out of the port and into the English Channel. This seven night cruise was the third and final part of our "Three Cunard Queens" holiday and took us to the majestic fjords of southern Norway.
This ship is in great shape and the interior is opulent and elegant throughout. We noticed that exterior handrails were very weathered and required ...
We enjoy cruising and although we have tried a couple different lines, we always return to Royal. Like all RCI ships, Anthem is stunning in many ways, but for us it is about the great service, excellent food, and wonderful shows, and ultimately the itinerary. We wanted to see Norway, so this was perfect for us. Southampton proved to be a good homeport. Our trip from Heathrow to the terminal was ...
We had been on this ship twice before - once during Covid19 as ships were starting to sail again and that was an amazing cruise actually despite all of that.
Then a year later to Spain and France and now this one to the Fjords. The last two times we got the Key package.
Embarking and disembarking were super quick and it wouldn’t have mattered had we got the key or not. It looks like it’s ...
good and not so good about anthem of the seas
Not so good-
The ship is really not that well designed. When I say that there are highlights and lowlights.
Highlights are the usual large theater with balcony as seen on other RCCL ships. Also the Two70 lounge is a nice space that is comfortable and techy. See other comments below about sportsplex and pools. Also the casino is below ...
On October 2022 I booked a 14 days Baltic cruise in P&O Britanny, which I paid on front, because the pound-dollar rate was the lowest, about 1.12 ( currently 1.28 ), no service charge, free launderette, overnight in Stockholm and Copenhague, calls in Helsinki and 3 more small cities. A few weeks later the cruise was cancelled by P&O and I had to find something to replace it within the same dates ...
Trip 12 days Norway - not fjords as advertised as we skirted the coast.
Pros: First time on Cunard and personally we loved the actual ship and the crew. Our steward was very attentive, nothing was a problem, thank you John. The staff in the dining room and Lido also very attentive and polite. We only took in one show which was very enjoyable. Lovely string trio. Food was in abundance. Only ...
Ship operations seemed disorganized and everything was just in time. By the end of the cruise it seemed as everything was a competition between passengers to get to the front of the line or somewhere first.
A single tender port when we bought our tickets turned into 5 once we boarded. The nightly queue to get tender tickets for next day was 30 to 60 minutes. Not worth it. We ate a later ...
