We have cruised with Royal Caribbean before in Europe and found them great so when we saw this repositioning cruise we decided to do it. We recieved an email prior to the cruise advising as we were on deck 12 we should be at the cruise terminal in Singapore at 11am. We got there on time and were still waiting to board at 1.45. Have never had to wait this long to get aboard any ship.
When we ...
We are 5 star on HAL and love cruising the high seas. This itinerary was wonderful. We boarded in Hong Kong. Because of Cruise Critic we knew several couples that would be sailing. Several excursions were pre-planned before boarding.
One very frustrating incident was the fact we were told in China we would have to be back on board at least two hours before the HAL excursions. That meant ...
This cruise started out in singapore .we spent 4 days prior to explore this wonderful city. Ports of call were bali and then 4 ports in australia. We swam the great barrier reef, held a koala bear, petted kangaroos and explored sydney.
Food on the ship was good. Lobster night we had all the lobsters we could eat. There were not many americans on the ship. Mostly australian and english. It was ...
Boarding the ship was the quickest ever with no queues.
We were advised that due to possibly some problems in Bali, we would not go there. Instead spend the first night in Singapore and spend another night at Darwin.
Some were upset by this, especially some of the crew who had family in Bali.
The Captain explained that three ships from the Company were avoiding Bali due to a threat and ...
Cruise was part of the relocation of the boat from England to Sydney.
Cabin was great being one of those built in the refurbishment in January
Entertainment was good particularly the Aussie Boys and Hayden Smith and his wife. The promenade shows were also very good. The piano player in the Schooner Bar was also good particularly given the distractions he had to deal with.
Windjammers ...
The cruise was Singapore to Sydney. After refurbishment shouldn't have been put back into service. Took 6 hours to board know one new what was going there was no communication. Luggage wasn't delivered until after 10.30. Carpets were wet, some cabins had no water, there was no power to some parts of the ship, the ship was losing water for a few days. launderies not working. Couldn't access on ...
To stand and wait over 4 hours in the heat without water, food or seating to get on board was not a good start, Carnival then refunded 25% of fare, okay fair enough. Then to get a cabin where the kids running through the ship all night and jumping on the deck above our cabin so that we couldn't sleep, kids yelling in your door in the middle of the night! Balcony dividers not anchored, no sign ...
As indicated in previous reviews about the Spirit cruise from Singapore to Sydney - complete debarcle on embarkation at Singapore - due to partial re-fit and late arrival of boat to dock. Carnival's initial use of this cruise terminal and obvious lack of pre-planning or preparation on scoping the venue and available facilities for video/audio communication (was none), suitable seating and failure ...
4 hour delay for boarding, left waiting in hot terminal, no water and over 2000 people. No communication. Tender process was terrible, people missed their tours due to lack of organisation and communication from staff. No water in pools, spas or waterslides for 2 days. Ship was filthy from day 1 to last day. Constant upgrades being worked on during whole cruise. Sushi bar opened in last ...
The ship was clean and the Indonesian (only) staff was very friendly and gave their best.
The cabins were O.K. and the ship, though old, was very clean.
However the negative aspects were overwhelming.
The food , besides being on the cheap side (excluding the occasional crayfish) was often tasteless and the meats basically tasted all alike . Every day (for 6 weeks) the same salads, 3 ...
