We joined QM2 at Singapore on a section of her world voyage.
Embarkcation was reasonable enough and were soon at the Kings Court for a light lunch.
Our cabin was an obstructed balcony on deck 7 - a spacious cabin well turned out although we did have a problem with a leaking toilet for 2 days at the start of the cruise.
Our cabin stewardess from South Africa was excellent - nothing was too ...

Itinery was part of a bucket list tour and expectations were set high to travel Cunard for the first time. We are platinum NCL travellers (smaller ships) plus experienced P & O and Royal Caribbean passengers having competed over 40 cruises..
We have never experienced such poor standard as our 36 days fromSingaporeto Southampton onQM2 .

We have sailed many lines and Cunard definately has a different feel to the American lines despite US$s used onboard and US owned. There was not the constanr push to buy packages and alcohol was even allowed to be brought onboard but only for cabin use. The so called formal nights started at 10pm. The above is what I was told by the Deputy Captain when I finally managed to corner a member of the deck department to ask why some new lashings hadn't had a whipping or a back-splice put onto the cut ends.

I chose the QM2 because of its reputation and a desire to sail on her. It was the smoothest sailing I have ever experienced. The ship is spacious. The stateroom was very comfortable. QM2 is a true ocean liner and a grand ship.
