Review for a Asia Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

We chose this cruise because our friends we sailed with were told it is a fantastic cruise. The cruise started very badly in Singapore. We were informed to be at the ship by 1230 hrs which we were but unfortunately we were still sitting around the boarding area at 1600 hours. Once embarked we found our cabin to be everything we expected. We found most meals to our liking, the staff more than ...

Large ship with plenty to do but could do better!

I was excited to do this cruise because it was going to Asia where I’d never been before. I thoroughly enjoyed Singapore and would like to visit again sometime. We arrived on ship and settled in our cabins. Unfortunately I found the cabin quite noisy at night. We could hear the toilets being flushed and people walking in the corridor, this disturbed our sleep. The dining experience was an ...

When my partner and I cruised the Caribbean on Oasis last year - we were so excited had a great time that we decided to book a second cruise - on the new Ovation of the seas The ship itself is wonderful. It is large, modern, great decor, casino is well organised, and the two-seventy area is magnificent. They even had a sports bar that’s always open for games - unlike the Oasis. The onboard ...

MEGA ships are too large

The ship is too big. I have sailed about 26 times on Celebrity and 3 times on Royal Caribbean. It took us WAY too long to embark. It was unorganized and mismanaged. We have a balcony cabin. First, we always have room service for breakfast. Now they will charge $8, so I guess we have to get dressed, etc. and go to breakfast rather than relaxing in our cabin if you want anything more ...

Royal Caribbean have dropped their standards , we have sailed many times with them in the past and sadly this trip was not worth the money. After trying MSC last year I will be cruising with them again, much more for your money and no where near as many “extras” that have to be paid for. We were very disappointed at the change in the dining each evening. We were told we could only have my-time ...

5 day cruise ex Singapore April 2018, first appearance of the ship was great ,very large areas plenty of room Okay food , ticked all the box's. By day 2 you could feel the staff were over worked as the ship was quiet full , all restaurants that are free dinning had the same menu reason given was that the ship had far to many passengers therefore they decided to have the exact same menu, which was ...

we wanted to experience the new best thing but were disappointed. the main dinning rooms lacked grandeur and a feeling of luxury. Public spaces were to small and poorly located. If you don't get there early don't bother. Schooner bar for example is the same size as smaller ships. The cruise director was a little flat and his staff lacked personality and engagement, seemed to want to get things ...

Disappointing to say the least

We joined the Ovation of the Seas in Singapore, and check in was well organised, it took only 45 minutes to go through immigration and into our stateroom. We were happy with our balcony room, on deck 11, plenty of storage. Luggage took some time to arrive and one item was missing for some reason, but eventually retrieved by us from deck 2. From then on we were in for some unpleasant surprises. ...

Creaky cabins

We wanted to see the new ship for ourselves first impressions were all good, new ship, new layout, fresh, clean stylish. cabin layouts are a clever use of space, same size as other RC ships but the cupboards are built in around the bed so the rooms look and feel much bigger. clear plastic shower screens were great as you no longer feel so enclosed even though the size is about the ...

1) An extremely tragic unexpected family death Nov. 28, so my daughter, very distressed, phoned shore to ship 3 times that evening from the scene to speak with us - left 3 messages with telephonist but none were passed on to us. Our phone light flashed & said 3 missed calls - when we rang Guest Services told just kids, although I insisted time frame between calls far too long for kids, also ...
