We were really excited to be going on the costa fortuna cruise ship. We arranged for the appropriate visas for cambodia, travel insurance and up to date passports as these were required documentations by costa, otherwise you would be denied boarding the cruise. Well to start off, we were not even asked for these documentations upon arrival and second, we did not need to do the visas as costa would have arranged the visa while on board. The food was horrible, at the buffet and for 2 weeks it was same for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the so called bacon they served was burnt that it looked like it was cremated. Coffee was only served at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Other cruise we did had coffee and snacks available 24/7. Bad luck if you went on an excursion and returned late as after 2pm doors were closed and reopened at 7pm. Hand sanitizers in the eating areas were often empty or broken. With the Corona virus around you would think that COSTA would have someone at each point where the sanitizers were to insure people used them before entering the buffet area but not one attended was ever present Now, for the dinner reservation at the fancy restaurants, well the meals were not that spectacular either, you had to pay for the water where it was free in the buffet. The constant italian music, daily games which were more like you play at a kid’s parties were in italian. The nightly shows in the theatre again were in italian and again were not spectacular, people walked out numerous times. Restrooms are so hard to find they were hidden outside in a corner because they blended in with the wallpaper. The staffs at the reception desk were arrogant and not very helpful and would get irritated if you asked them a question. Every day an argument would occur between guests and staff. Take the case of the daily mandatory fee of 10 euros per person per day for services in cleaning the cabins {doing the beds and showers}. I guarantee that the sheets had not been changed not once in the 14 days we were there With so many of us complaining, a meeting was arranged with an english speaking lady from hospitality. When asked about the visas we were asked to do for cambodia, she replied that costa does not ask guests to do visas as they are arranged by costa fortuna for a fee of 40 euros for everyone whether they were going ashore or not. When i presented a copy of the email i had received from costa her response after reading was, that’s unfortunite for you yes it was unfortunate as it all cost us $150 each person. Another question was raised by a fellow passenger regarding the so called 10 euros per person for room cleaning. We were told it is a gratuity fee that goes to the cleaners. We already paid $ gratuity. Passengers were not happy and when they complained, we were told, “if you don't like the ship you can get off. For a couple of seconds everyone sat there looking stunned at what they heard then all hell broke loose. We were in the middle of the ocean, where did she expect us to go. At the end of the cruise all english speaking guests were to attend a meeting for brief instructions on the day of disembarkation we were also instructed and i quote again, to rate costa fortuna a 10 because if we don’t, the crew members will not receive there bonas. Costa fortuna that is bribery. Not going to do what you asked. Worse cruise ever. Costa fortuna was a big mistake. So if you’re thinking of doing a cruise with them you better think twice. Read Less

As frequent travelers staying in many hotels locally here in the Philippines and hotel abroad in different countries, my wife and I tried to experience to cruise onboard which is Quantum of the seas. Every traveled that we planned, we always rely to read the comments and reviews to all hotels that we stayed in. This time, we decided to experience to choose to get onboard the cruise ship. At first, I was hesitant to choose Royal Caribbean Cruise- Quantum of the Seas because of majority negative reviews that we read, but to my surprised it turns out to be a remarkable experienced cruising at this luxury vessel. We travel Singapore cruise from November 30 to December 5, 2019, 5 days cruise from Singapore-Malaysia- Thailand-Singapore. We stayed in hotel in Singapore since we arrived on the 28th of November. Using our tourist pass which we bought at Changi airport for S$26 for three days is such a big savings using it unlimited at MRT lines and buses by simply tapping the tourist pass card as our ingress and egress on trains and buses. We took the advantage of using the tourist pass card visiting tourist places in Singapore. We observed that if you travel from station to another station it will cost you a minimum of S$0.83 –S$ 2.08 so having this tourist pass card is indeed a great savings. Quantum of the seas is remarkably a huge luxury vessel with superb facilities from cabins, classic restaurants, production show venues, swimming pools and entertainment venues. The Food and beverages staff went out beyond and above extraordinary services, kudos to Head Waiter ONUR from Turkey, Waiters Fely and Frederick both from India of SILK restaurant, Jidong from housekeeping, Bartender Mike of Sky Bar, Alvin of Sorrento, Regie of Solarium, Bar server KURL of Boleros, they all deserved to be commended for the excellent services they have rendered during our 5 days cruise. The cruise entertainment team is very active from the varieties of shows for the cruise led by Cruise Director Ken and Manager Troy. The Captain of the ship and the Hotel Director are always visible from embarkations to debarkations. Singapore embarkation process are very smooth and organized. Singaporean are also well- commended for their disciplined behaviors from dining to queuing on any events or entertainment production shows considering they are about 2,500 Singaporeans who was with us. Though we only stayed on inside cabin but the virtual balcony appears to be like you are staying in a real balcony cabin. The food that we have is so delicious from all the restaurants that we have dined. On our 1st day, we made a reservation to watch the STARWATER production show which is a Broadway’s presentations featuring world class musical show at deck 4 Two 7 venue. It is also recommended to watch SEQUINS and Feathers, another world class production show where reservation is not anymore needed. There is so much fun as in no dull moments from varieties of activities and unlimited dining experiences on board the Quantum of the seas. Over-all we really enjoyed our cruise and the money that we spent is worthwhile for the remarkable experiences that we had at Quantum of the seas. We will highly recommend this ship for our family and friends for them to experience what we have experienced. I would recommend to complete your online departure for Singapore immigration for a seamless process and avoid the long queues of passengers during debarkations. In about 20 mins we are already completed the immigration and down to Cruise terminal picking out of our luggage. Read Less

This was the 3rd HAL cruise we had taken, and an excellent experience. All ship's amenities were beyond expectation. Any mechanical issue, such as a banging door on the veranda, were taken care of immediately. Our cabin steward, Gede, was superbly attentive to our requests and needs. The dining room staff which included our waiter, Antoni, his assistant waiter, Ferry, and our wine steward, Joseph, were professional and not obsequious. Very knowledgeable and helpful with regards to our individual eating habits and requirements. The Neptune Lounge was an added perk, and one worth the money. Sarah and John were always ready to lend a hand. They were a joy to work with. Our only complaint would be the unnecessary need to stop and shop at gem and jewelry shops at the end of an excursion. The added excursion to Angkor Wat, Cambodia, was the most spectacular addition to our cruise. The accommodations were excellent and the guide, Savi, could not have been better. Easy to understand, knowledgeable, and most helpful. Read Less

I was very displeased with the cruise we boarded on April 2 from Singapore to Mumbai. To our dismay upon boarding the ship was old and tired as many of the staff were. When we checked into our room I had to summon housekeeping to change the bathmat as it was frayed and extremely tired as some of the towels. The only saving grace was that the room was a decent size. The food was not first class as its reputation. La Dame was supposed to be their top of the line restaurant which charged $60. pp extra. Definitely not worth it. Stated in their literature is that premium wines are included. This is false as the Chardonnay served was the cheapest reserve of Wente, Morning Fog, when Riva Ranch is only a few dollars more. On several occasions the raspberries at the morning buffet were moldy. The avocado was shockingly served to us when it was overripe and black. Regular yogurt was at the buffet when Greek style was available but we had to ask for it. Why are there items available but not on the menu? This is not what I expected for the money spent. I have sailed on many other high-end ships and this did not measure up. Furthermore, I have received no email regarding my negative comments that I painstakingly wrote before leaving the ship. 4 of our group were so dissatisfied they left the ship after only a few days on board. And to add insult to injury, my travel partner and I had jewelry stolen from our room. When I reported this to the customer relations dept. (Dionel Castillo), the answer was very unsatisfactory. Needless to say, I am not left with a fond memory and doubt that I will return on Silversea as there are many other cruise ships that are a dream like Oceania, Crystal, Viking and Regent who offer much superior service. My first time on this ship and with this cruise line, we picked this because of its itinerary and its smaller size. It didn't start off smoothly but the cruise line fixed the problem and everyone was compensated very well. We did explore the embarkation port which was Singapore stayed 5 days and loved it a most beautiful city with so much history. The Quest ship is still being updated, there was some construction going on during the voyage, not too intrusive. I was in a suite club continental, everything was new and updated huge bathroom, king bed, new carpets, large balcony and many more perks that come with the suite cabin. There are unlimited dining options in the specialty restaurants all included and wonderful we ate in both Aqualina and Prime C excellent service! Also, all international buffets were outstanding. Entertainment was fantastic loved all of the local shows, Ports and excursions were good the only thing, I found it very hard to understand and hear the local guides speak, especially when in a group of 25 or more, they should provide headsets on all the tours. Overall we did enjoy this trip and all the beautiful ports, service by the cruise is outstanding and they really go out of their way to make you feel at home. I would consider another cruise in the future for sure! Read Less

Just thought I’d share a few notes with our fellow cruisers out there. I’ve never written a review before so bare with me. We started in Singapore, one of the most expensive cities in the world. It’s what a major city should look like clean, architecturely beautiful and easy to maneuver. Our hotel faced the iconic Sands hotel. This area is close to most of the attractions so the price point for these hotels are a premium. We went to the Longbar in the Raffels Hotel and had a Singapore Sling for $37.00us, ouch, but it was a cool experience. Explore and enjoy this city, taxis are the best way to get around. The Celebrity Millenium has gone through a re-fit which,in my opinion is okay. The rooms lack color and feel cold. The closet just doesn’t work for tall people’s clothing although there was adequate drawer space. The tubs they used to have in the veranda suites have been replaced with showers, too bad. Public spaces were very nice but some of the light fixtures in the buffet area had bad placement by being to low and at times I’d hit my head on it. One other complaint were the chairs in the public spaces, they lacked ‘sliders’ on the bottom of the legs which made them hard to pull out or push in. On the positive side the mattresses were fabulous, new carpets, lovely to walk on, new lounge chairs by the pool excellent. That’s just a few thing that stood out for me. One major issue I had with this cruise was the distance of the major cities from the ports. I would strongly recommend people to realize the traveling times of each excursion and perhaps stay in a hotel in the overnight ports. (eg. Bangkok 2-1/2hrs each way) Not unless you like bus rides ;-). When we booked it we thought it wouldn’t be too bad, but it was. We went to the Ban-nai Hills to see the Golden Bridge, which was pretty cool but just be aware that at the top of the tram ride the French Village your going to see is nothing but a replicated village and amusement park with hotels and restaurants. Shops didn’t open till 5pm and it was wall to wall people. Not really what I thought I’d see. Needless to say all of the ports were interesting to visit and thought we got a good feel for the countries we visited. Service on board was pretty good, one waiter in the Rendezvous Lounge had issues with service but we still survived. Dining room waiters were awesome, food was pretty good. Tried two specialty restaurants both well worth the extra money. The only thing lacking in the evening meal were vegetables, so we asked for a side every night. That being said, we wondered why the lack of tropical fruit in the buffet. What they had were melons, pineapple, kiwi and dragon fruit in hiding spots but no mango, papaya or guava. All that being said it was long 14 day cruise and I now need a vacation from my vacation. Read Less

WE took this cruise because we were interested in the ports of call. If we had known in advance that HAL was only interested in the passengers going of EXC tours we wouldn't have taken this cruise. Most of the stops we out of the way at some large container port. The cruise director failed to inform us in advance about possible shuttles our of the port. At some of the ports they offered no free shuttle and you could only get out by expensive taxi. As 5 star mariners we have known better cruises with HAL. When in Hongkong they forgot to inform their staff that ONLY the people who went to Macau were not allowed to get off the ship after returning from Macau. We still had half a day left to explore. After a big row with the staff the cruise direction eventually gave out a message that we could leave the ship again. Bad work!!! The entertainment was not exsistent or poor except for the Chinese lady playing the accordeon. On seadays there was NO entertainment except talks for the EXC people. There was no music band on the deck and elevator music played the same music every day. Our cabin was good and spacious as it was a suite and the staff their usual friendly self. Everything was clean. As there were many people with bad cold including me we expected staff to make sure people didn't touch the food or fill their water bottles at the macine themselves. This did not happen. What happened to the coctail party for the past mariners? We didn't get one invitation although we are 5 star. All in all I would say this was not the best cuise we have been on. We will think twice about booking HAL again. Read Less

We wanted to experience a Christmas Cruise. Unfortunately Christmas Day was not as expected, just the usual meals. Christmas Eve there was just Christmas Carols. I expected to have events leading up to Christmas where we could all do things together and make craft things or just do something Christmassy. If you wanted to do anything extra during the cruise, it was so expensive, everything you had to pay extra for. The off board activities were a rip-off. But worst of all we were talked into purchasing some art and told if it didn't suit the house we could return it and receive a refund. 3 months later we still haven't received a refund and worse than that, they actually keep 25% of the refund for us to purchase more art. They are not accountable to anyone. The entertainment was below 3rd class. Why would I want to go to Yoga at 7.00am on a holiday? There was nothing to do while at sea I will never ever go on a Princess Cruise again. Read Less

We wanted to cruise somewhere warm and end up up in Freemantle, as I had family in nearlby Perth. The cruise was a great, we had absolutely awesome service from the staff and nothing was too much trouble. THe onboard entertainment offered in the theatres and lounges was top class. In the main the food offerings were fantastic, with regular menu changes The staff in the restaurants particularly the regency restaurant on deck 6 were absolutely wonderful and I would love to go on a cruise and experience this level of service and friendliness again. The only negative was that the excusions ashore are very expensive, however we made our own arrangements for this and it was really not that much trouble to find someone adshore that would take you where you wanted to go. The ship was clean and rooms were attended to twice a day every day. I loved the decor on the ship and the ambience onboard was really nice. We would not hesitate to go with Princess again, and are planning our next cruise now as we made a deposit on board for a future cruise with them Read Less

We cruised in a Palace Suite as the All Inclusive offer appealed to us and the cruise fare was not much more than a balcony cabin. The Palace is a private ship within a ship concept, complete with Butler service, drinks included, Palace speciality restaurant, free wifi and a chance to dine once at the other speciality restaurants on board We pretty much tried everything on board and loved the private Palace pool area which has a huge amount of loungers, mini cabanas etc all of which are hardly used so make for a nice peaceful sanctuary. There are 4 spa pools, two hot and two cold also in this area and there is no shortage of service around the pool area with drinks replenished on a regular basis. The Zook beach club is a neat area and they hold lively parties there at night, a bit like being in a top beach side night club. To celebrate her 50th birthday my niece decided to invite us all to join her on a cruise and P&O Aria South East Asia was the nominated ship. I flew from Auckland to Brisbane on the 11th August 2018, spent two nights there with friends and on Monday 13th I met up with the rest of the group (17 of us) and we flew to Singapore where we spent two days shopping and sightseeing before boarding our ship on the 15th August bound for Bali, Komodo Island, East Timor, Cairns, Airlie Beach Brisbane. What an amazing experience. The ship was huge and enjoyed exploring and meeting so many other beautiful travellers. Some like myself were newbies, while others were old hands at cruising. Our cabin had a balcony and was very comfortable, though the couch our room mate slept on was not so good. Though she reported to the house staff, it was not repaired so she had to compromise by using our extra pillows to adjust the level of her bed. Dining was amazing, with a great selection of foods in The Pantry and restaurants with great service and selections on their menus. Embarkation and disembarking were well organised. Also the shore tours were great too, Entertainment, and activities on board were fabulous. I also enjoyed having Acupuncture while on board as I suffer from hip and back pain and I am truly amazed how much relief and great I continually feeling following my treatment. Read Less

I was excited to do this cruise because it was going to Asia where I’d never been before. I thoroughly enjoyed Singapore and would like to visit again sometime. We arrived on ship and settled in our cabins. Unfortunately I found the cabin quite noisy at night. We could hear the toilets being flushed and people walking in the corridor, this disturbed our sleep. The dining experience was an interesting, we were a large group who were seated in an area in the back of the ship. I have never been in a segregated situation before and this is how it felt. We are a group of black individuals who were hidden away behind a high partition and if you entered that restaurant you would never know that we were there. I really didn’t appreciate this situation and chose to eat in the windjammer restaurant instead where I could chose to eat where I wanted. I found the entertainment ok but a lot of it was repetitive. The service was very good, the staff are very helpful and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my shore excursions but was disappointed that we were unable to disembark in Saigon. I would love to do this cruise again but not with this company. Read Less

There were 10 of us on this cruise to celebrate a 60th birthday. The embarking was conducted in an efficient and orderly fashion. The weather was perfect for the five day and the pool areas were inviting with plenty of sun lounges on the deck above and on the pool deck. We all had a balcony cabin on Deck 8 which was very comfortable and it was nice to be able to sit out on the balcony having a beverage and watching the world go by. Our steward/butler Rudi was very attentive and surprised us every day with a towel sculpture on our bed. We had told him we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and he put a heart shaped anniversary magnetic card on our cabin door, so lovely. The ship was explored top to bottom and the facilities were excellent. The food was great and we were able to dine at several place throughout the day and night. We pre purchased the beverage package which was definitely worthwhile, especially for bottled water, which we had alot, besides the alcohol! If you're a drinker of spirits would recommend the beverage package. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't disembark at any ports as we had visited KL, Penang and Phuket several times and decided to enjoy our time on the ship. We all had a fantastic time and we all said we would definitely cruise again! The disembarking was again conducted in an efficient and orderly fashion and it didn't take long to go through customs and get a taxi back to our hotel. Anyone who has been following Silver Shadow's reviews on Cruise Critic, must have had second thoughts . The complaints escalated and the stars dropped. Having just returned from one of the finest cruising experiences I have ever enjoyed, I must protest! I will grant you that what others see as old fashioned and in need of a makeover, I see as a patina, a graceful lady who takes very good care of herself. I never once suffered a bed that wasn't anything but pure comfort. The upholstery was out of date? Good grief, is that why you took the cruise ? For the upholstery? I'd strongly recommend buying pashminas at your first port of call. I am quite sure that in addition to all the myriad services the Butler provides you, he has likely been trained as a draper who will artfully cover the offensive sofa with the same kind of panache he brings to your breakfasts in bed or the bath he'll draw you at the end of a long day ashore. The service on Silver Sea is simply heaven on earth. Every single crewmember is at your beck and call whenever you need anything. The ship is so well staffed that you never have to wait for a single thing. And the fact that every single drink, every glass of wine, every soft drink and water is at your beck and call and all included in one fare is just another reason to love Silver Shadown There's enough variety in the various restaurants that the pickiest eaters can find favorites like superb pasta in La Terrazza, and stone-grilled meats at Grill by the Pool that are excellent. Pastries and desserts are particularly good everywhere aboard ship. The dining experiences are as varied as you mood. Opt for formal breakfast service in the Dining Room or catch the morning breezes on the deck outside La Terrazza. The intimate size of the ship lacks for nothing but makes it possible to meet its truly international passenger complement is dozens of ways. The line attracts some wonderful travellers from all over the world. Aboard ship and ashore conversations start easily, common interests forge friendships. My nine day itinerary from Singapore to Vietnam to Hong Kong was an education in and of itself. Two superb experts, one on the Vietnam War the other on Photography and Sea Eploration were a highlight of the trip. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this wonderful experience. Having sailed with several other cruise lines, I have to say that the service we received from every single member of the Princess team was first class. Better than we have ever experienced from any other company. That said, there are a few areas where Princess really let themselves down on this trip. The Sapphire is due for a complete refurbishment in the next couple of months so it was no surprise that it is looking a little tired. However, I didn't like the fact that they started doing maintenance work during our trip. There were a couple of areas of the buffet restaurant roped off while something was being done to some large cabinets, right by the entrance. They also did some painting on the top deck without putting any 'wet paint' signs up. We found this out when my wife happened to get paint on a brand new top she was wearing. Although an attempt to dry clean (free of charge) was made, the top was ruined and came back in worse condition. Sanding and varnishing work was also being done on some hand rails around the swimming pool, with guests in very close proximity. Other things that were not so good - The Captain was almost anonymous. The only time we saw him was when he made a very brief welcome speech. He was not seen by any of our party walking the decks or otherwise socialising with the guests. The only time we heard from him was when he announced an itinerary change caused by bad weather. None of the bars stocked slim line tonic water and the Horizon buffet restaurant was perhaps the poorest of its type that I have experienced in a dozen cruises. Apart from Horizon (the buffet restaurant), the restaurant food was of a good standard with plenty of choice most nights. We did try both the speciality restaurants during the cruise, with very different results. Sabatinis was excellent throughout. Great service and fantastic food. The Steakhouse however turned out to be a curtained off section of the Horizon Buffet. The curtains did not stop other guests walking through throughout the meal. We even had one person walk through in their pyjamas! This totally destroyed any ambiance, it was difficult to relax and worst of all, of the six main courses our party had, we had to send two of them back. I would mention two members of the entertainment staff. Ted, the Cruise Director and Amy, the Assistant Cruise Director. Ted is a lovely guy and clearly very intelligent, however, he is in need of a new script. His repertoire when speaking on stage is very unimpressive. "Give me an oooh" and Give me an aaah" does not go down well with a mainly adult audience, a significant percentage of which do not have English as their first language. And as for his jokes - I have never witnessed so many tumbleweed moments. On the other hand, Amy Alderson was a pleasure to know. She made every effort to get to know our group and was absolutely charming. A credit to Princess, I am sure a promotion will not be too far away, she deserves it and I am willing to bet that she tells a better joke than Ted. There were two very talented violinists playing each evening in the atrium. We certainly enjoyed their music, but would it have hurt them to smile occasionally? All performances in the theatre were of a very high standard. The dance troupe were excellent and the visiting artists all very entertaining. Especially David Knight, the Hypnotist. Our stateroom with balcony was comfortable, although I am sure that the shower was shrinking throughout the trip. There was certainly less room in it at the end than there was at the beginning. Perhaps it was me getting bigger!! Adrian, our Stateroom attendant was excellent, very helpful, always smiling and always in the background if we needed him. I did like the idea of the ship holding onto our passports throughout the cruise. They looked after most of the immigration issues, which made getting on and off the boat at all the different locations much easier. However, the issue with Cambodia and visa requirements was very poorly communicated prior to the cruise. This resulted in us spending more on a visa than we needed to, because we had unnecessarily sorted it out before leaving the UK. We only went on one excursion organised by Princess and that was in Borneo, to the Mari Mari museum. Excellent and would recommend. All the other excursions were organised by the company we booked the cruise through. The gym was very busy most mornings, so you need to pick your timings. There was a lack of cycle machines compared to cross trainers, but all equipment was in good condition All in all, a terrific holiday in which the staff of Princess contributed significantly to our enjoyment, for which I thank them. Second time with HAL, we were concerned about the length of the voyage at 28 days. But at the end, 28 days journey has gone by fast. We find this is one of the more enjoyable trips we experienced. The itinerary was good, there is enough at sea time to rest up, especially traveling in warm weather regions. During the voyage, HAL has a very good program on excursion and shore activities by the EXC group, in particular, the presenters Jeremy and Phil were excellent presenters, very knowledgeable with each and every stop of ports-of-calls. The information given is very valuable, not just for company sponsored excursions but for the people who want to roam on their own. Plenty of advice on the Do's and the Don'ts. We also appreciate the attentions given to handling visas to Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. HAL handled it well, seamlessly and painless. The food in general is very good, better than what we had in the previous HAL cruise. Lido Market has good varieties and the Main Dining Room service is quite well. The hamburgers and hotdogs served in the pool area are great, especially the fries. Though, during breakfast and lunch in the Lido Market is a bit chaotic, due to the medium size of the ship, the dining rooms are relatively small, guests often congregate in certain areas and not exactly know where to lineup to be served, and overwhelming the serving staff. Our interior room is located on Main Deck aft. It is a little noisy and high mechanical vibrations when the side-thrusters are operating during docking of the ship. The entertainment is OK, I have seen better but it is not the worst. The cooking shows in America Test Kitchen are quite good, library and game rooms (not casino) are well stocked. Lots of area to relax, live entertainment with live musics is quite good. The outside walking deck on the 3rd deck is quite good. All in all, HAL's Volendam is a pleasant ship to sail on, it has enough activities and food service to keep us busy on this trip. Read Less

I am eager to write this review in order to increase this cruise rating. After my mom paid for this cruise, she did a bit of research about Costa Victoria. Mostly was awful, so we almost cancelled our cruise and let the money go instead of wasting our time. But it is our last trip with my brother before he went overseas, so we decided to go. And seriously, this is my first cruise and it is AWESOME! well, for me the ship was huge (although they said it's a small ship). Food was FREE (even for semi fine dining version), unlimited and great (especially for indian food), but you have to pay for other premium drinks. the timing was PERFECT (23 Dec at 22.00 until 27 Dec 14.00). I respect all of the crew members that give their best effort to serves us day and night with their best smile to ensure our best experience on cruise (THANK YOU!). The cabin design is old fashioned, but CLEAN, they clean our cabin twice a day. Endless parties and event for sure. Definitely WORTH IT for their value for money. To get this personal, I'm 22 yrs old and I came from Indonesia. Not really the best cruise for my age, but I totally recommend this cruise for FAMILY who had kids around 12 yrs old. Read Less

SHIP: We are cruising since almost 10 years and take at least 2 cruises per year. So far we have tried Oceania Cruises (Marina-PH2 Suites), HAL (Koningsdam-Vista Suite), MSC (Aurea Suites) and TUI Cruises (Junior and Captain Suites) on several occasions. This has been our first cruise with Celebrity Cruises and we have been very insecure prior starting our vacation due to so many negative reviews here. We have received a very good offer with all 4 „perks“ included (all inclusive premium drinks package, pre-paid gratuities, unlimited internet access for 2 and a shipboard credit of USD 300,-/cabin) and decided to try Celebrity as we wanted always to discover South East Asia… After all we would state, that this cruise has been by far the best „suite life“-experience we have enjoyed so far on a cruise ship. We always have been treated like king and queen from any staff member on board (No matter of cabin category you have been booked in!). They all work so hard every single day and still have a smile on their lips… Despite the MILLENNIUM is an old ship (the oldest within the fleet of Celebrtity Cruises) she is still very nice and very very clean. Despite several refits there are still some occasional signs of aging, but the ship is still very well looked after. The signs of age are mostly shown in cabins (bathrooms, furnishings, balcony railings) and in SOLARIUM/ Persian Garden area where there are some new and very pretty lounge furnishing, but the covered pool has plenty of rust spots and the glass dome seemed very old and not cleaned for a longer time. The sauna area is not up to date, the Persian Garden is inside without any window… Restaurants, bars and public areas in general are stil very nice. Do not let this minor unperfections spoil your vacation! Even on newer ships like MS Marina (Oceania cruises) and MS Koningsdam (HAL) there are several rust spots… Even in our home not everything is perfect! DINING: Dining has been one of the highlights of our cruise on one side and the cabin and the itinerary/ ports of call itself on the other side. As suite guests we have been allowed to dine at the LUMINAE Suite class restaurant, which has been open on each day for breakfast and dinner and on seadays also for lunch. The restaurant is very elegant (furnishings seem the same on all Luminae-Restaurants fleetwide). The Menu has a very limited choise of 4 appetizers, 4 entrees and 3-4 desserts, but you can choose as many courses (including entrees) as you would like to and in the event of missing anything you can order a la minute and they will make their best efforts to refill your wish. You can also order any course from the Main Dining Room (MDR)/ Metropolitan Menu. The quality of food has been extraordinary and offered a wide choise of meat, fish and vegetarian foods. We are foodies and really liked the cuisine. In our opinion the LUMINAE restaurant stands above even the specialty restaurants on Oceania Cruises and even Pinnacle Grill on HAL. We have even got one of the best soufflés so far on a cruise ship. The wine list has been quite large and we could enjoy or favourite wines: Austrian Grüner Veltliner and Riesling (for white) and Burgundy and Bordeaux (for red ones). Our another favorite venue has been the CAFE AL BACCO AND GELATERIA with the fresh italian coffee and small suite delights (complimentary if you order a drink) in the early morning and afternoons. The AQUA SPA CAFE has offered a good choise of heathly food, breads and fresh juices and smoothies. On 2 nights we have tried the QSINE and have found the food to be quite good, but the focus has been mainly on the different/ unconventional kind of presentation. Our favorite dish has been the Mediterian delights (thought too big portion). The waitress GORDANA from Macedonia has been a real treasure and provided a merorable service. One night we ate at TUSCAN GRILLE, but neither the food nor the provided service met expectations, so we have cancelled the pre-booked second visit (Celebrity have refunded payment immediately!). As suite guests we had complimentary access to MICHAEL´S CLUB LOUNGE with the concierge service desk (Rhiannon Lewis has been so helpfull on several ocasions) and the afternoon High Tea Service on each day. We have never ate at the self-service OCEANVIEW CAFE & GRILL, so can not make any comment on this venue. The open air terrace at the back seemed quite nice however… CABIN: On this cruise we have booked a CELEBRITY SUITE (CS 6104) on deck 6. The cabin has offered a great location midst of the ship without any noise disturbances from other cabins (sometimes we could hear the neighbours from the sky suite beside banging the wardrobe shelfs in and out). This cabin type is a real suite, as you have a large separate living room with large dining area, entrance hall and a separate bedroom with walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom. While the living room is very bright with the large window front going around the entire living room front, the bedroom is complitely dark as laying inside. For us this was perfect, as we are very light sleepers and enjoyed to have a complitely dark bedroom. The dining table has been large enough for up to 4 people and we have regulary enjoyed our breakfast in the suite. The biggest disappointment with the room was however the bathroom. Comparing to the rooms size and layout this seems quite small and old. The height/ entrance in to the bath is quite high and very difficult for ederly people, this becase a real issue… Also there is no socket/ electricity layout in order to connect an electrical device/ toothbrush etc. We had to order an extendable cable which has been provided immediately. The furniture itself is old and needs replacement, but still good in shape and clean. The balcony infront of the living room is quite narrow, but of good size with 2 chairs, a food step and a small table. SERVICE: As mentioned previously we have been very satisfied with all crew members on board! They all made our holidays to become a great experience and we can only confirm Captain´s Leo words: we have welcomed you as foreigners, but will say good bye to you as good friends. Our maitre in Luminae NATASHA from Macedonia has been a great person and soo freiendly, as well MILLA (somellier) and all the waiters… After few nights they all knew our Names, prerefed table and drinks… We could not await it to return every evening to our restaurant…Our butler RAMIR has been the best we had so far on a sea and has been so helpfull on any occasion. One day we have decided to carry out a party in our suite for some other fellow passagners who became friends on board and Rhiannon (concierge) and our butler have beed so great of providing some canapes, sweets and drinks for all 12 people! This service has been for free! Thank you! Our suite manager Denny Flores and his spanish collegue from Alicante (sorry forgot her name) have been also very helpfull after an issue with the bathroom access and have even done a very nice poresent for our next cruise with Celebrity. The guest Relations Manager ALANA from South Africa has even refunded us the costs for our private visas in Vietnam (more than USD 175,-), as this has been caused due to wrong informations from their sale office/ representatives in Austria/ Germany. Our suite attendant has kept the suite always tidy and clean. ENTERTAIMNET: The cruise line show productions have been almost all good and we have especially enjoyed their guest entertainers on board, especially the young singer lady from Jamaica who is living in Japan and as best the Celebritys exsclusive british signer lady JAYNE CURRY with her great voice(not many songs but all of them san great!) and british humor! SPORT/ SPA: The fitness room is surprisingly big and offers a large number of fitness equipment in some hours the room could become quite croudy, but in general you could always make a good workout. The PERSIAN GARDEN area is quite dark, as laying inside; we found the sauna and changing rooms and showers to be quite old and the SOLARIUM covered pool need some attention. The sunloungers at the Solarium are quite new and comfy. Celebrity shall refit this area when ship is in dry dock next time. SHIP EXCURSIONS: As on every cruise line all offered ship excursions are quite expensive, so we have done all of them on our own. The airplane scenic flight in Halong Bay was just 1/3 of the price we have been asking from the cruise line for example! RECOMMENDATIONS: We can recommend the MILLENNIUM SHIP to any cruisers looking for a cruise in style with superb food and great service provided from any crew member! We definitely consider cruising again with Celebrity on one of their Millennium Class ships and for sure with the bigger Solstice-Class ones. According to the infos provided on bord all ships fleetwide will undergo a totally refurbishment by the end of 2020 in order to bring them all to tho the new EDGE-Class level… Read Less

The Foods served is quite average but customer services super. Dinner at Table 39 well served and attentive with super enjoyable services with smiles. Appreciate Ms Pan Lulu and one gentleman (didn't get his name - Philipino or Indonesian) Both are courteous and providing excellent customer services to make us comfortable though the menu/foods can be better. They offer to change plate of delicacy at all time and politely ensuring whether we are enjoying the main course, desserts etc. Enjoying the ice show, movies and the lounges for nice songs and drinks Casino average as too many smokers (as i am non-smoker) Loves the deck views - first time experiences with strong wind(s) but i enjoying the breezes, the sunset, sunrise - super nice and wonderful. Definitely will introduce friends and family as everything are perfectly managed and the last day of disco (Funs) singing and dancing with free champages provided Read Less

Chose a new ship having recently been on the tired Grand, loved the itinerary, found things lacking such as: No promenade deck! Well can go up and down part of deck 7, have to squeeze in past tenders, sweat as go past hot air vents then turn back and repeat as can't do circuit Space in theatre appalling, only went to 3 things as had to queue for an hour to get in ALSO mother disabled and viewing in disabled seating area in theatre was atrocious only top 1/4 visible if not in front row! No alternative entertainment being offered simultaneously in Vista to reduce demand in theatre 3,500 pax 900 ? Seats two shows the math does not work. Lack of bars/ drink service Lack of swimming pools Cabin ( standard balcony) very cramped , no second chair or table ( brochure picture clearly shows both) balcony very small Food tepid in self serve Why is towel booth required on deck 16 lido, when there are towel stands surely it would be more use as beverage station........ Lack of cold/hot beverage points in accessible areas, i.e. Prior to handwash... Ridiculous hand wash station prior to Horizon Court Excursions very expensive/ poor value for money, tour guides on the whole difficult to understand Piazza area superb but WHY the vast area devoted to photos surely these could be displayed on smart TV in cabins, this area would be much better as a social area Entertainment was lack-lustre, day time activities on Sea days minimal and/or un hosted, NO SAILAWAY / cocktail of the day or events like BBQ held on lido deck in evenings, theme nights / pool parties or local entertainments/food experiences Shops on board too high end!!!! Where were the rummage sales? We all want souvenirs and or grandchildren presents Read Less

We chose this trip via Imagine Cruising because the trip to India after the cruise was the added attraction.Boarding at Singapore was abbismal as they said the computers were down ,meaning long waits and even longer queues as 2000 people were waiting. On board at last we found orientation around the ship difficult for the first two or three days and would describe the layout as higgle piggile. But having said that she is beautiful ,stylish and upmarket ,all public area are gorgeous and also she is so stable you are completely unaware that you are at sea. This part of the cruise was through Malaysia and the Indian Ocean and was incredibly hot and humid but Adora's was an oasis if coolness.Meals were on late sitting and we had a table of 6 ,they were friendly and sometimes it was difficult to speak to everyone ,food was very good most of the time but occasionally as with everything some were just OK.Drinjs as usual were rediculouly overpriced so wine was not purchased. The pub was a good place to meet and enjoy the old g and t.Shows we also found to be hit and miss but the theatre is amazing and would not be out of place in the Westend. The cinema/lecture auditorium was also first-class.Drinks parties given by the Captain were fun and you got a FREE drink and met fellow cruisers ,most we talked to are looking forward to the Indian Adventure.Disembarkation was also chaotic with people unaware of which coach was correct for them. The heat at Dubai was draining and after waiting ages we just got on any bus going to the airport, missing our private transfer in the chaos and then finding our own way to the correct terminal for our direct flight to Delhi with an Indian airline. Most of the Imagine Cruisers were booked on Emirates and we luckily missed the further chaos at Delhi airport where they took more than two hours to clear evisa entry. We particularly enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi in the late afternoons as the heat in this area of the world is stifling. First time have the cruise holiday with my family, chosen the Balcony Room with Sofa Bed and the room size is comfortably accommodate 4 of us. We were so busy everyday with all the onboard activities such as Ripcord by iFly, bumper cars, flowriders and the swimming pools, and NorthStar. We have bought the 3-days Specialty Dining voucher and there is no regret for paying extra on this, although Royals ships have fabulous buffet dining which is inclusive in the package. But still the whole dining experience was wonderful, from the restaurants' ambiance, staff service, food variety and quality, thumb's up! After our first experience with Royal Caribbean, we know that it's very difficult for us to go others cruises as our expectation will be super high and in Asia country, I believe there is not many cruise would be able to beat The Royal standard. Now we are eagerly waiting for the new Oasis ship which hopefully by 2020 it will complete it's construction and come to Singapore soon! Read Less

This was our first Azamara cruise and we liked it so much, we've already booked our next one. We were fortunate to be the first passengers after the refit in Singapore and we found a beautifully appointed ship with comfortable places to relax, have a drink, meet friends, eat a wonderful dinner, or have a quiet moment. What we loved about the size of the ship is there are no lines like you get on the standard cruises - no long wait to embark, no hunting for a table at breakfast or lunch, no lines to go off on a shore excursion, no lines at any of the dining venues, and always a comfy lounger by the pool! Everything was elegant, civilized, amazingly clean, comfortable and relaxed. Nothing was snobby and I was happy to see people had left the ball caps and cut offs as well as the ball gowns at home. We met people from all over the world and everyone was warm and friendly. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the service. Every single person, from the cabin attendants to the Captain were friendly, helpful and available to all the guests and we each were made to feel like family. We filled out a survey on the third day about how things were going. I mentioned that the entertainment in the Living Room during the cocktail and tapas hours was too loud for conversation. I received calls from the cruise director, the head of hotel services and from guest relations. The music was immediately toned down (and the number of people in the bar increased) and I was thanked several times for speaking up. Everyone made an effort to know our names, and after the first few days, knew what we liked to drink and where we liked to sit. We chose to add the "Like" package to our cruise and would definitely do it again. This program came out after we had booked our shore excursions which meant we had to cancel some before the cruise to use the $400 credit for excursions booked on-board. I stressed about this, for no reason it turns out, because there was room available on all the excursions we had cancelled. I was very pleased with the unlimited wi-fi and posted lots of pictures for family and friends to follow. As well, we were happy with the included liquor package upgrade and were able to choose everything we usually drink at home. We also added a dining package and ate at Aqualina two nights and Prime C one. Next time we'll switch it up. Both are excellent although I felt the lighting in Aqualina could be dimmed a little for more atmosphere. We spent a few days in Singapore before the start of the cruise which let us recover from the very long plane ride from home and explore this very interesting (and ridiculously clean) city. We easily mastered the metro and saw the Botanical Gardens, Gardens by the Bay, rode the Singapore Flyer, took a bumboat ride and a trishaw tour. We also became somewhat acclimated to the high heat and humidity that we would experience wherever we stopped on the cruise. I would recommend a visit here for anyone passing through this way. Only one shore excursion took us to the dreaded 'craft sale' but it did have a western bathroom which was a redeeming factor. We saw a lot, learned even more and have so many memories. Read Less
