Didn't Live up to Expectations

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Sapphire Princess

I must have been on a different cruise than some of the other reviewers. After 20 + cruises on various cruise lines, I found this one mediocre. Perhaps I expected too much of the exotic 37 day Singapore to Southampton itinerary. I have to admit the highlight of the trip, Petra, definitely did live up to its hype and my expectations. The Suez Canal on the other hand was a major disappointment ...

35 Nights from Singapore to Southampton

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

We have sailed many lines and Cunard definately has a different feel to the American lines despite US$s used onboard and US owned. There was not the constanr push to buy packages and alcohol was even allowed to be brought onboard but only for cabin use. The so called formal nights started at 10pm. We had a 6pm dinner so a long wait for the formal. We didn't bother with them. The formal dining room ...

Tired Ship, Erratic Crew, Poor Entertainment

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Sapphire Princess

Ports of Call were our main reason for choosing this cruise. Ship was tired. Many unhosted events. Some of the guests were voluntary speakers onboard. Crew service was brilliant in some areas and woeful with attitude in other areas. Many crew seemed as though they didn’t want to be there. I am convinced Phillippino crew are the best. Entertainment was downright poor, Cabin was ...

We chose NCL Star for the Ports of Call we had never been with them again, the boarding process in Singapore was ridiculous we waited 5 1/2 hours (boarded 4.30) to get on the ship it seemed that nobody knew what they were doing we were only offered water while we were waiting and once we were on the ship we went to get some food only to tell us that things were being closed down for the mandatory ...

The ITINERARY, places we wanted to visit. Rich in culture and history. Reason for choosing this cruise:The cruise was March 9(Singapore)-April 16 (Venice). We choose this cruise because of the itinerary which was port intensive with only 112 sea days. This is a part of the world that we had not traveled and this itinerary seemed an ideal way to see a number of countries. In this respect the ...

Disappointing Cruise

Review for a Asia Cruise on Sapphire Princess

This cruise was very disappointing. We are seasoned cruisers and this was our 7th cruise on Princess. This ship was headed for a extended stay out of Shanghai where it was being leased by a Chinese company for 6 months. So this was the last cruise for a while for international passengers. During the cruise you were extremely aware that staff was being trained and changed out with those that ...

Service? What service?

Embarkation in Singapore was reasonably straight forward (in spite of being taken to the wrong cruise centre by the taxi driver). The only thing that could have been improved was the forms we had to fill out while standing in a mass of other guests. Our cabin was fine apart from the fact we could barely see out of the window, a window clean now and again would not hurt HAL! Now for the bad ...

Luxury??

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Quest

This was sold to us as a luxury cruise. It was far from this. The checking-in procedure at Singapore was pathetically inefficient and confused. We had done the on-line pre-boarding thing, yet had to wait in the same line as those who had not, making huge long waits, standing in the extreme heat - very difficult for the many elderly and infirm passengers. Being used to cruising with Royal ...
