Cunard brochure describes an era long gone

Whilst this ship - like its sister ship Queen Victoria - is well-designed and its public areas spacious and artistically decorated, Cunard’s failings are the way it treats its passengers both on board and at ports of call. Cost-cutting on food and services has resulted in a deterioration of standards over the years. Coupled with rip-off prices on drinks and tours it is no longer the leading ...

What makes Cunard so special?

My husband and I chose this cruise because of the itinerary. The embarkation process ran smoothly and we did not have to wait too long to board the ship in Singapore. We had a cabin near to mid-ship on Deck 4 with an obstructed view - i.e. there was a lifeboat right outside the window so we could only see the sky. The cabin itself was a nice size with two wardrobes and a few shelves. under ...

Super Cruise but Unsatisfactory City Stay in Cape Town.

Chose this cruise across the Indian Ocean as it visited lots of places that we had not seen before. Also, it was in the sunshine! Great cruise, super service and everything was spot on. The food quality was OK but not 'special' as we expected from a premium cruise line. The amounts on the plate were quite modest but that was OK with us as we are not big people. However, the price of drinks was a ...

Trip of a Lifetime

Review for Queen Elizabeth to World Cruise

We chose this cruise due to the ports served. Originally planned to go with Oceania but I did not like the reviews. Cunard did not gouge us on Visas for example. Oceania charged $150 for Vietnam visas Cunard only $30. We upgraded to Princess and that made a big difference. The Princess Grill was the best run dining room that I have ever seen. If you take a cruise on this ship it is worth the extra ...

Not Old Enough Yet for this Ship

We are experienced cruises using many different cruise lines but this was the first time that we had used Cunard. The main reason was that two ports of call were in India which we had yet to visit. Singapore was as usual a delight have lived there in the past and visited on quite a few occasions. The check in was excellent within 20 minutes we were through all the formalities and on board the ship ...

Arrived on Queen Elizabeth on 3rd April, to a very warm welcome. Cabin excelled our expectations, very clean and comfortable. Cabin Steward could not do enough for you. Meals were exceptional, both waiting and drinks staff very helpful, and always smiling. The ship itself was sheer luxury and in the ten days on board every day was relaxed and never rushed. Made plenty of friends, the only ...

Singapore to Dubai; Excellent Ports and Food, Not Excellent Service

Overview This was a very special cruise for my Husband and I; it was our honeymoon cruise! I am not very good at sitting still for long periods of time, so this cruise was the perfect mix of sea days and ports to give us a chance to relax and reflect on our wedding but also keep active and explore new places. The weather was constantly 30 degrees or above, which made for a lot of sunbathing, ...

Good and Interesting Ports - Poor Cruise Experience

Review for Queen Elizabeth to Middle East

We have been with Cunard now on 3 occasions and whilst they are not our most favoured cruise line we chose this cruise because of the destinations which were part of the 2014 World Cruise which for this segment visited Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Colombo, Mumbai, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. We have been to Singapore and Dubai before but missed Abu Dhabi on a previous cruise because of civil unrest ...

Very Disappointing

The process for boarding was very good although you had to find your own way to your Cabin (Stateroom as they call the). The Cabins are very good & larger than most Cruise lines. However from then on it goes down hill. The whole ship had the smell of wet carpet as it appears that the air con is leaking thoughout the ship & the smell at night in the public areas was quite strong & you had to avoid ...

Embarkation at Singapore was quick & smooth no queuing, as was disembarkation at Dubai, We had booked a cabin on decks 4 - 8 But the day before leaving were told it would be on deck 1 This was so noisy what with being right under the dance floor & next to where metal shelves or containers were DRAGGED across the metal floors every night. Passengers in these cabins all complained but nothing was ...
