So I've read a lot of bad reviews about this ship and they are not true at all. I've cruised Costa before as well as Princess, Celebrity, NCL, RCI etc.. To start with it's worth saying that this is not an American cruise line, its quintessential European (Italian) and you get what you pay for! We paid for a suite for the same price of an ocean view on a similar Celebrity cruise itinerary of the far east. Pro's: - Free room service breakfast (for suites) was well worth it. It avoided the queues and the rather bland breakfast buffet. Really good option! - Staff were generally amazing. Especially restaurant staff, our Butler Angelo and our room steward Babbo (?) - Lunch buffet and dinner buffet were good. Not amazing but on par with carnival cruises -Evening meals at the speciality restaurant which is included for suite guests is good! Some really good options especially if you are a fish eater! - Clean ship with lots of pools and hot tubs, plus a free spa which is good -Suites are awesome and worth paying the extra for! Huge balcony and shower room, plus priority boarding , tenders, disembarking etc.. Con's: - Entertainment is generally terrible. I don't go on cruises for the entertainment, but if you do then please note this! You get what you pay for with the entertainment - The food is generally geared towards meat eaters at the sit down restaurants. Just a note for any vegetarians or vegans. I coped ok, but with a lot of cheese and pasta - The experience would have been considerably different had we not had a suite. Our friends had a standard balcony and said they didn't enjoy it as much due to not as great food options, queuing, no free drinks package , no butler etc.. we had such an awesome deal it made sense. Could never afford it on NCL or princess etc.. Generally very good, great itinerary and I would recommend it for anyone looking for something slightly different and cheaper. Read Less

First of all, the cruise was cheap. 8 nights in outside premium with 250 MB internet and drink package including both wine, beer, cocktails and special coffee and included gratitude (service) for 700 $ per person. So expectations of course needs to be in relation to what paid. First the positive: -Itinerary is great with stop in Port Klang, Langkawi, Phuket (2 days), Penang och Malacca. Only one sea day -Ship is not overcrowded. Compared to larger ships the 3 swimming pools and deck chairs seems sufficient. Previous cruise was with Carnival Magic and it carries 1000 more passengers with only 2 swimming pools. I was never able to get into one. -Costa knows how to throw a great deck party. Really fun on white night! -You get some nuts snacks when sitting down in a bar ordering a drink -Compared to previous cruises the launch hours have been extended so some kind of food was available to 4PM at least (previous it was no food on the ship between 4:00-6:30 PM) But still, lots of things they need to enhance: -Communication is non existing. Like, where will the ship dock? is the time in local or ships time? Is room service available, there's no menu? Is it included in the premium price? Where's the exit when in port? How's the disembarkation procedure? -Ship interior is outdated and ship looks overall worn -Buffet food is hardly eatable. -Excursions are way to expansive -Entertainment is just sad -General lack of activities to do on your own. Why not have some shuffleboards, mini golf, fussball games etc available? They had ping pong tables and a tennis court, but there's no equipment and no information how to get the equipment so it was never used by anyone As we have cruised Costa before we expected not much, still a bit disappointing. However it works if you only expect to use the ship as a mean of cheap transport with food between interesting ports of call. Still slight more comfortable than an airplane or bus at least ;) Read Less

Went on Costa Fortuna for about 2 weeks (2 adults 2 children) just came back. We have great things to say about the staff in restaurants, buffet and room service. The food was good and catered for food allergies. Although that’s it for the positives the rest was terrible. Spa manager was very rude, not all the gym classes booked online are available on ship. Took 6 attempts to get refunded. Kids club catered for Italians speaking mainly, even if on occasions the majority of kids spoke English. Entertainment very limited, musician accompanied by audio music. People complained for extra cost for water and gratuities. Pool deck unmanaged people leave towels on chairs all day (yet not used) leaving no seats available. Air conditioning in rooms hot and stuffy, reported 4 times no change. We had pina colada on board it was very watery no taste. Excursions on board way too expensive. Read Less

2 weeks sailing from Singapore 17/12/19 to 30/12/19. Paid extra over Christmas (nearly $5000 AUD. And so it went as follows: Air conditioning not working in cabin. No soap in cabin..had to ask for a $5000 cake of soap. mediocre room cleaning. No clean sheets for 2 weeks. Evacuation drill was a confused mess with no communication or guidance from staff. No help from staff to put on life vests as maintained that information regarding life jackets provided in writing in cabin. A member of the staff shoved me and yelled at me to move over during drill, despite there not being any room to move. To be manhandled in such a way made me feel like I was a cow in a feedlot...I'm 60 years old...I don't want to be deliberately pushed. Could not activate pre-booked wifi (that cost 113 Euro) as instructions in the cabin are totally wrong. Queued 3 times at hospitality services to get help with logging onto wifi & was given 3 different pieces of advice...all were wrong. And after 9 days of being extra frugal with the wifi and barely using half of our allotted 3G...the remainder was totally wiped out overnight via an unknown source. The hospitality services desk maintained that they had records from the server but could not provide us with the records as they were purely for Costa's information...another $180 AUD down the drain...couldn't even argue the toss without evidence. The staff were consistently rude, short-tempered and lacking in social skills. I witnessed a senior petty officer dressing down a junior member of staff in the buffet in full view of passengers. His behaviour was unbecoming of an individual in a management position and totally inappropriate. It was an embarrassment to watch and made me feel sick and saddened that someone could be humiliated so badly in a public arena. The tender to Koh Samui is privately contracted through a Thai company by Costa. The life vests were in a large plastic bag on the top deck. They were totally out of reach of lower deck passengers and inaccessible to upper deck passengers. There appeared to be no life vests for children and there was no Costa member of staff on board to guide and help passengers in the event of an emergency. All other crew members sonly spoke Thai. The thought of Costa allowing this situation to continue with the potential for children to drown is beyond belief and CRIMINAL! The tap water in the cabins was undrinkable. It looked like it had been mixed with raw sewerage. The water was turned off on one occasion without advice to passengers over the PAapparently because it was an emergency, however, they can always manage to blastpassengers with PA announcements that make money...Bingo, Bingo, Super Bingo!!! Theafter-hours water dispenser on the outer deck was frequently malfunctioning and other thanpaying for bottled water with 15% surcharge there was no water available as passengers were advised not to drink the tap water. The attention to hygiene on the ship was disgusting...the hand sanitizers in the eating areas were often empty. Most other cruise lines have addressed the issue of onboard hygiene with the veracity of a wounded COSTA! The poker machines in the casino did not work for 2 days...not because we were inport but because they were broken. The onboard information display booths were mostlybroken. The food was mostly pizza, pasta. No variety in cuisine despite there being a large Asian and Chinese passenger component. Even P&O can pull off a stir fry or a curry. NOT COSTA. But to be fair...the last 7 days Costa put on some Indian fare...but it was purely for a special Indian tour group and no-one else on board was permitted to eat it...totally speechless on this little gem of Costa brilliance! So as the smell of Marsalla wafted through the buffet the peasants who had paid $5000 AUD got to eat pizza, pasta. The entertainment...there was one movie screened in the 2-week festive season of Christmas and that was....wait for it...The Three Tenors in LA. Every kid on board was over the moon with excitement. Constant Italian music, daily games in Italian, Italian nightly shows in the theatre, Italian flags everywhere...nothing to embrace the global family. Every night at the buffet you had to queue for lengthy periods but the 11 pm christmas night buffet stole the show...crowded, disroganized, conducted in a venue where people were trying to dance and walk from one end of the ship...TOTALLY STUPID BUT SUMMED UP COSTA TO A TEE!! As a result only the greedy got fed...like they needed it!! to the other. Christmas night buffet was disroganized, crowded The dining room...only a photo could tell the story of that experience. And on top of all of that got slugged with a daily mandatory service fee for crap service (which I prepaid because I knew it was coming despite every other cruise line either abolishing or permitting waiver on this otherwise named "gratuity"). I feel so sad that I have wasted my money, our Christmas was an absolute disaster and Costa has gotten away with it. I would rather see the embarkation process stuffed up than small bodies floating off Koh Samui. Oh and another thing...yes you will be charged for visa to Cambodia whether you get off the ship or not and you will have to get off the ship in Singapore even if you are traveling on for another 7 days AND you will be instructed at the end of cruise disembarkation briefing to rate Costa a 10 because it will reflect badly on the crew members if you do not...NO PRESSURE, NO GUILT, NO WAY! Costa Fortuna December 17-30, 2019 Singapore FIRST TIME COSTA, NEVER COSTA AGAIN!!! I would never book a three star cruise, BUT four star (****) when booked turned into three star (***) when sailed, and three stars is debatable!!! ***THE GOOD FOOD lettuce cheese bread fruit (honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple) burgers and fries, poolside SHIP Public areas are fresh ***THE BAD not like my 35 plus cruises on Princess, Cunnard, Celebrity, Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Holland America, etc, etc no 24/7 self serve ice-cream, no 24/7 pizza, no made to order omelet, no 24/7 WATER!!! no water or ice in cabin, or ice tea or juice...NONE!!!! Water is metered, only at breakfast and lunch during hours, in addition apple and orange juice and hot coffee and tea at breakfast, hours change day to day, a lot of thirsty fellow passingers searching at all hours to quinch their thirst with bottles, thernmo's etc, RATHER COMICAL as the crew just watches... why "because they can!" Gratuities mandatory so there is no bartering. Booking from the USA I was afforded the "water USA" package which Hospitality desk told me granted me a glass of water at breakfast, lunch and dinner, but onlyin the dining room. THE WAITER POURED THE LAST OF THE BOTTLE (2 TBL spoons) in my glass and he was okay with that... FAIL, I did not return to the dining room... as service was extremely slow ie 1 hour to get appitizer a second hour to get entrée and I am not going to beg for water. third day, no water on ship, better part of day, broken pipe brown water on ship thereafter until debarkation. -toilet not flushing in cabin, they failed to fix on numerous attempts. -grungy bed linens and towels -filthy windows everywhere, broken window cleaning tracks, not new... old problem. -hot cabin my favorite spot on a ship is the boat deck, but not this one, very dirty, usually closed, teak in poor disrepair, no lounges, four teak benches each side, but rust and dirt everywhere. The ship is a rust bucket! Ship is understaffed, looks like Costa is getting ready to part with this one. published: currency aboard "US DOLLAR" but was Euro' so foriengn transaction fees, but in all my cruises I have never had an onboard charge, cept this time, as follows: Originally, on booking, were informed of a >=$65 USD visa charge for Cambodia Visa, turns out on board just $30.00. I got my own 30 day visa, one entrance from the embassy for $30, but the ship double charged me, even though they used my visa... the runaround 7 times (SEVEN TIMES)through hospitality to straighten it out and a unannounced mandatory passport processing fee in Cambodia of $10 USD per person... ship charge or government charge ??? anyone's guess Cambodia sucks as a cruise port, would have rather had the time in Phuket!!! overall, paid under $600 USD for a two week cruise, unassigned inside, they upgraded us to oceanview corner stern #2442. Other cruise ports were fine, Singapore was wonderful, easy using MRT train from airport, less than $3 each way, 2 easy transfer, even with baggage. lesson learned, never book a cruise with mandatory tips, never book a three star ship and for me "never cruise Costa". I booked back to back cruises on Fortuna over Christmas. After reading some negative reviews, I was a bit wary but I loved all of the 2 weeks onboard. Having cruised mainly on Princess (where it's impossible to get a chair for coffee in the atrium), it was wonderful to sit and enjoy coffees on deck 3. The atrium on Fortuna has a glass roof on deck 11 and glass elevators all the way to deck 2. Natural sunlight and a feeling of elegance made this my go-to area for people watching with Illy coffee (best coffee I have ever had on a ship, around $4, buy 25 and you receive a tin of 125g coffee to bring home). Not many Australians cruised, but plenty of Europeans flew in. I booked an inside (lowest price) cabin. It seemed very spacious. Bonus -they have installed a usb port on the dressing table. Buying onboard internet is not cheap. Like most buffets, you have to queue at opening and the food is slanted towards Italian. Pity they close the food outlets for parts of the day. Fortuna makes the best french fries and mousse desserts I've ever had! (probably lucky they are not open all day!) A few nights, the party beside deck 9 pool goes on until 12.30 and mid-ships deck 8 cabins are really rocking. Overall, Fortuna is an elegant ship and I am pleased I also booked her re-positioning Singapore to Italy in March also, but this time it's a balcony. Read Less

Would not be shy to admit that kids travel free was a bid draw for me. Secondly, was attracted to the itinerary from singapore to Koh Samui to laem chabang(ie. Bankok or Pattaya) and Cambodia. Love the fact that it was docked at Laem Chabang for 2 days so had more than enough time to explore and enjoy the stopover, which we did by signing up for a 2d Bangkok & Ayutthaya tour. It was a pretty enjoyable tour except for the fact that there were just too many visits to temples. Food was good but one needs to be selective about the food. The self service buffet was surprisingly better than the restaurant. The pizzas (paid) were very good. Cabin was very clean and water pressure was good. Loved the nightly entertainment shows. However, the air-con was not cool enough and it was quite warm. Secondly, the bar fridge in our cabin was not working throughout the trip and inspite of several reminders, no action was taken nor any explanation given. Third, one would have noticed the water slide on board the ship but can't help but think it is merely for decoration only as even though there was no sign indicating that it was not operational or out of order, it was never open for use at all thoughout the 7 days we were there. Overall, it was an ok trip and except for the issues mentioned, would have been much better. Read Less

I was really excited to go on this cruise ship, as it was going to Thailand and Cambodia and starting at Singapore. It was for an affordable price and it was going to Asia, so why not! First off, the food was beyond horrible, and that’s an understatement. I’ve been on around 10 cruises and I know what good food tastes like on cruises, so when comparing it to other cruises, this one was at the very bottom. Every day they had the same exact thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the buffet. Usually, other cruise ships change it up a bit, but no, this one had the same exact food for 8 days... Also, the times were so short for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We basically only had 1 hour to 2 hours to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the other cruises we had either 4 hours or they offered a 24/7 option for those late night snacks. Dinner ended here at 8:30 and it opened at 7, the dining area was always so packed and filled with hectic people because everyone was trying to get some food at the same time... horrible. This happened every single day. Whenever we arrived back from a city we got dropped off at, it would be around 3/4 pm and we were getting a bit hungry at this point, so we would go and look for some snacks, BUT WAIT! THEY DIDNT SERVE DINNER UNTIL 7! So we had to starve and wait until then. This made me even more frustrated because they didn’t serve snacks like other cruises did at a time when people would come back from a city outside. They however had “tea time” from 5-6, but they would serve some desserts and tea and coffee... the desserts tasted like leftovers from the day before throughout the whole trip. They also only served coffee and tea during tea time and breakfast, it wasn’t served during lunch and dinner at the buffet and restaurant like how other cruises have it. Now, for the dinner reservation at the fancy restaurants. Sadly, it was also horrible. The food was just not good, it wasn’t seasoned well, their asian food was cooked by an Italian chef and he butchered it (no offense). Usually the food at the restaurant is supposed to be better than the buffet, but this cruise made it that the buffet food was a bit better than the restaurant food, which is not saying much AT ALL. I barely ate my food at the restaurant because it truly was that bad. Another thing, some crew members were so rude to me, especially the older Italian (I think?) buffet chef. I was grabbing a piece of fruit from the buffet that was closed but I didn’t know, then he goes and yells at me and just keeps raising his voice and saying “What are you doing? No, no no you can’t do that what are you doing, go to the other buffet just go” like is that how you are supposed to treat your guests? How rude. I did not appreciate that AT ALL. Just tell me excuse me but we are closed. That is all you need to tell me and I would get the point. These things made my experience unenjoyable in my opinion. The shows are good but that is about it. Restrooms are so hard to find, they either blend in with the wallpaper or they are hidden outside in a corner you can only access when going through a little alley. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. It was fitting to my choice of the ports, countries and my time. That was the reason I buy this cruise. But will never again on this ship. Generally the cabin (room) for me as being a hotelier for 40 years was ok. We had booked balcony cabin and thanks god I did it. By chance we were on the buffet restaurant level. It was almost impossible to find a seat in the restaurant so we were bringing some 'eatable ' food to room and eat on balcony. Food and display were so bad that I had tried all the restaurants which were extra paid. Have 5 days breakfast in room, to my calculations that was better than what you get in restaurant. But I have to say that the Chef definitely needs to be trained somewhere with "all Inclusive" preferably in Antalya, Turkey. I'm sure at least he will learn how to make soup. No need to mention about the service and the situation of the tables. All the crew was trying to sell something but they don't understand that people on board have already paid for a service. First they should give that service and try to sell later. My advice to the managing company that they should ask for a help for their Food & Beverage urgently. Read Less

My wife and I booked a back to back cruise around South East Asia with Costa for their cheap balcony pricing and attractive port itinerary. We read a lot of mediocre at best reviews of Costa and decided to give them a chance in hopes we would have good luck. Upon arrival to Singapore we were immediately upset with the logistics of the cruise line. We stood in line for two hours to embark only to find out that there was no first come first serve embarkation only assigned number groups. There was absolutely no announcements or notification of this. Hundreds of people were also affected. After we boarded we went directly to our jail cell of a room. The queen bed was beyond ten years old, both twin beds were in the shape of U's from the guests past. Very clearly needed to be replaced. The air conditioning did not even turn on, and the toilet in the bathroom was full of urine upon arrival. After countless phone calls with the "hospitality" desk there was absolutely no sort of satisfaction. The guest services representatives were rude and lacked any sort of compassion. Unfortunately it gets worse, the food on the ship was far from satisfying. Every night my wife and I would try foods in their one dining hall and the buffet in hopes to find something tasty but failed to do so every time. Every night we found the same food on the buffet being served in the sit down restaurant after the buffet closed. There was one night I accidentally dropped a piece of beef on the ground next to the pool area and not two but three cockroaches ran out from under the table to feed on it. I have photo's of this to support that statement. Costa has no concern what so ever for their guests satisfaction or well-being what so ever. Every day was an argument with hospitality to try and achieve some sort of satisfaction. My wife booked two massages and decided to cancel them 72 hours in advance whilst their policy requires only 24. The massage therapist charged us immediately upon booking even though our massages weren't until the next week and then when we decided to cancel we were told that we couldn't just cancel. We had to submit a request to Costa for a cancellation and wait until the last day of our cruise for a refund which we still have not received. Needless to say we will never consider ever spending another penny with this worthless company. I feel so terrible for the couples who spent their wedding gift money on a honeymoon trip with Costa. Please save yourselves the heart ache and disappointment and book with a reputable cruise line! P.S. we have done multiple cruises with multiple companies and are not hard to please when it comes to hospitality. Read Less

Chose this cruise due to outstanding places, visiting Singapore, Bangkok, Khuala Lampur, Phuket, Langkawi, Penang, Ko Samui, Sinahoukville. All were great places to visit with lots of temple, artifact, great people and fabulous food. Best of all, Bangkok. A city so vibrant, lots of cafes and restaurant in every corner with so many dishes to choose from, its an unbelievable city. Next on the list is of course Singapore, so clean, friendly, cosmopolitan and a bit on the expensive side. Phuket was not that great, of course if you like athmosphere towns like Ibiza or Ayia Napa full of restaurants and bars and night clubs, than Phuket its for you. Had a nice meal in a hotel restaurant and overall was good. Local dishes were great! Prawns in quantity and abundance. Cambodia was a let down, I wonder what the local government is doing about the state of the city. After all they suffer, the population demand and expect better, tourist are flocking into the city, money is coming in, but the total structure is way below poverty line. Feel very sorry for the locals. The ship (Costa Fortuna) was a bit of let down, cabin was good and spacious, restaurant were mediocre, buffet very crowde as expected due to lay out. Far too many DONT for a crusie liner, hence the heading of cutting services. Far too many member of the catering team in the buffet area, speak other language execpt the language to connetc with guest. Meaning, if a waiter is from Indonesia or the Philippines, they continually speak own language aloud in public areas. Denying English Breakfast Tea at breakfast time, afternoon tea time and any other time, contrary to other company in the market, which tea is always welcome and available. Some guests were asking for lemon for the tea, and were told no more lemon. Run out of Prosecco on board, run out of sparkling water with 5 day to end the cruise. In the restaurant, lots of supervisory member walk around the floor, including the Manager, but none interact with guest in checking that food is appreciated and of the standard required, in few occasion had to send back the dinner due to food being cold. Felt sorry for the waiter, but after all I paid for a service that didnt get accordingly! Have another cruise booked with Costa in March, and have lots of concern of fulfillment and pleasure. Worst of all, at the end of the cruise, you are lumped with a bill of 200 euro for service charge which the company say its compulsory making the total of cruise much higher than expected. Surely this is against the law in the UK. Read Less

I recommend 1 crew from the bar Vietnamese Ngoc Tuan Vo . The food variety is truly huge with beef turkey fish pastas salads fruits . Their deserts are poor . Healthy and vegetarian options available too . Spa is very overpriced . The many jacuzzi are the best most powerful you can imagine. Clean and hygienic too . Pools with waves are interesting. We chose this cruise as it suited our dates and meeting up with friends from the other side of the world. Costa cruises have not understood what they are selling - it seems they think they provide a transport when they SHOULD provide an experience for their customers! * Very poor service - always long queues at the hospitality service, who where the only ones to answer any questions, even though they didn´t understand the language. Poor service. * Additional costs, which you didn´t know about. * Poor service at the cabins, we had bought a full drinking package which included minibars - but they didn´t fill it up or they filled it up with what they had on their carriage - meaning Sprite, Coke. No water. * Very poor foodquality at main dinner! And slow service - they didn´t know how to serve at a table. Unexperienced, untrained personel..... Very rude Head waiters! As I wrote before - I wonder if they know why they are there! For whom...... * they asked us to fill in 9-10 on their evaluation - because they had all these 900 personel working up to 12 hours a day, 5-11 months a year, without any days off - which they were bragging about. I should be embarrased to say that at all!!!! Maybe that is why they cannot fulfill their work - they are exhausted... Summary, bad service and bad organisation. It is so little needed for the customer to be satisfied. And they failed it totally!!! DO NOT BUY A CRUISE WITH THE COSTA FORTUNA! Read Less

We were travelling as a group of 8 to celebrate a special birthday. We chose this cruise line and this cruise due ro the date and location being roughly mid- way as both families travelled from opposite parts of the globe. Both families are experienced cruisers and this certainly was an experience to remember- but not in a good way! The best thing about this cruise was the company and we made the best of it. We made our own fun. From embarkation to disembarkation the cruise was characterised by chaos, low quality and staff indifference. Embarkation was painfree dor us due ro being in suites but overall this process waa not well managed so the very first customer experience was bot a good one. There were lengthy waiting lines at the hospitality desk and once you got to the top of the queue you were met by disinterested staff! In terms of food, this was poor in terms of qualiry of ingredients and taste. Night after night there was a sameness about the dining experience and I know costa's meals do not reflect good Italian fare. Average is the word I would use to describe the food. I would say this is a budget cruise line and you get what you pay for. Sometimes you don't get what you paid for- other reviews have mentioned that the pool slide was not working and I find it hard to comprehend that this had not been fixed from previous cruises. Limited availability of hand sanitizer so I was pleased we brought our own... We were in suites so were able to eat in Conde Grande- we breakfasted here as we wanted to join our friends for dinner each night. Highlight of the breakfast was the salmon that was available. The offerings from the menu here were bizarre and lacklustre.particularly memorable were the overcooked hard poached eggs- the same every day and inedible! Our suite was clean although we only sighted our butler twice and his English was poor so we stopped asking him for help. E.g. he didn't seem to understand about restocking the mini bar with the beverages we selected. It was good to have toiletries in this cabin but housekeeping didn't seem to realise that these needed to be restocked when they had been finished. Service around the ship was generally slow whether this be in the dining rooms or bars. Staff didn't seem to understand more than simple phrases and so it was difficult to engage with them. There was a distinct nonchalance and lack of responsibility when we pointed out something that needed to be changed. I put this down to a lack of customer service and training and ultimately costa not valuing their staff or the customer experience. I simply cannot recommend Costa as a cruise line and have already booked another cruise with Celebrity- our cruise line of choice. Read Less

All these were dispelled after completing this cruise.I juz can't find any disappointment with this trip except the embarkation process took slightly more than 2 hrs and some younger waiters were inexperienced during the breakfasts served in thr dining room. The ship had a very capable and hospitable crew though at times, it was difficult to communicate because of language problems. The food was good and more than sufficient which were served at my table. My room was exceedingly spacious and comfortable. The entertainment each evening was spontaneous, professional and exciting. I would however, appreciate if free water could be served for those having their dinners at Raffalelo and Michelangelo. I am glad that I have chosen this cruise. i will definitely participate in costa cruises again if my schedule permits Read Less

I travelled with my wife and children to Port Klang and Phuket recently. We had quite an enjoyable time as this was our first trip aboard a ship. Despite the many shortcomings - shower not very hot, food quite average only, difficulty to find our way going through several rooms, no mineral waters in cabin and few pillows only, we had a fun time generally. We enjoyed the night shows, music and walkabouts around the ship. Perhaps, the coffee served could have been better as some guest look forward to it in the mornings. Also, the tours organised at Klang and Phuket were too short for shopping and sight-seeing. The organisation by CTC tours was orderly and well managed generally though. Overall, we had a good time as the room was kept clean daily and comfortable. We would like to compliment the waiters at Michelangelo for their excellent service, especially Janice Raj and Fahrul who were extraordinary in their service throughout our dining time there. We were entertained without any delay and were even served beyond our expectation. On the last night of our trip, Fahrul even surprised me being a vegetarian with an Indian food that really touched our hearts. These 2 gentlemen are definitely wonderful ambassadors to your fleet who made our day special. Read Less

Embarkation from Marina Bay Cruise Centre was a breeze. There was sufficient manpower to direct the guests. They took notice of guests with young children or aged guests. We took 15min to board since we brought along aged parents. HOWEVER, disembarkation at the same port at the end of the cruise was a nightmare because 2000 guests were leaving at the same time. Despite being assigned staggered disembarkation timings, it was one big pandemonium at the exit points. We were assigned the first group for disembarkation but the meeting point was already congested. So, we were sandwiched for an hour like in a subway peak hour carriage. Disembarkation at other ports were uneventful.I wished we were offered a cold drink or a cold towel though. All guests should note, the check-in luggage porters can only accomodate suitcase/trolley luggages. Sports utility bags, shopping bags, backpacks are out. I think guests who are travelling alone will appreciate the availability of single cabins, considerate dining arrangements of table for twos at the buffet corner, as well as in the restaurants. The water slide was closed. The gym was closed after second day. The pools were crowded. Sigh! Considering that the ship is plying around Southeast Asia which is humid, hot, and wet weather all roll into one, the absence of ice-cream parlours, water coolers and memories of seeing long queues of people filling their water bottles and milk bottles at the buffet stands were a sorry sight. One last caution. Pasta is freeflowing. Pizzas? You have to pay. I am sorry but I missed Costa Victoria. Read Less
