Great cruise with interesting ports

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Silver Muse

Wanted to see Ireland and eastern Canada and this did both. The crossing was nice, 4 sea days in a row. A couple so-so ports like Sydney Canada (try and avoid) and western Canada is much more beautiful but still very nice. Loved the French island of St Pierre. My comment to take or leave; the food is great in all the restaurants but they have raised the premium restaurants (La Dame and ...

Far from a 'Luxury' experience on the Shadow!

Where to begin?? I chose Silversea because I had always wanted to sail on a smaller ship, and this 17 year old ship only holds 382 passengers. The itinerary was a 14 night sailing from Seward, Alaska to Tokyo, Japan. Silversea's marketing materials boasts luxurious accommodations, free beverages, and a butler with every suite (all cabins are considered suites). So far so good.... but, in ...

Mediocre at best

Having spent 28-days on a back to back cruise from Lisbon to Montreal, I am reflecting on a variety of mixed feelings about the Silver Muse and Silversea, in general. I tried to focus on the positive aspects of the cruise and the gratitude I feel for being able to afford to sail on Silversea for an extended period. However, there were many aspects of this cruise that just didn't meet the standard ...

Bitter Disappointment: Uninspired food served lukewarm in disorganized fashion

We have 300 nights on Silversea and usually love the experience they have to offer. We are well known to the staff, whom we love. This time, we sailed for 28 nights from Lisbon to Montreal in September 2017, six months after the launch of the ship (plenty of time to work out the kinks). Unfortunately, the Silver Muse did not provide any luxury despite the hype in the brochures and the extreme ...

Disappointing

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Silver Whisper

This cruise on Silver Whisper was from Southampton to Montreal. I live in the UK near Southampton so I was really looking forward to the sail away. Traditionally Silversea used to have Sailaway parties on the pool deck so I was very disappointed on boarding to see that a lot of the deck was under repair (large tent covering one side of the pool deck, under which repairs took place). There was ...

My wife and I were aboard the Silver Whisper (cruise 4723) departing Southampton, England on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, and arriving in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on Friday, September 8, 2017. It was our second Silversea cruise having earlier gone to Antarctica, etc, aboard the Silver Explorer. The Silver Whisper rides very well. The engines are quiet and even in North Atlantic 12-15 seas, the ...

We chose this cruise because it stopped in Ireland, Iceland and Greenland. We had two really great lecturers on board which helped to fill the days at sea. Having been on several Silver Sea cruises before we knew pretty much what to expect. Unfortunately we missed two ports. One due to weather and another due to a mandatory slow down in the St. Laurence river. The slow down was announced by the ...

Disappointed

Chose this cruise because of ports visited, seas were rough and we found out they were always rough on this cruise. We were not advised of this and we spent several days in our cabin sea sick. Not fun,big disappointment. We could not visit several ports because of rough seas. The Whisper is an older ship and frankly some areas of the ship our out dated and in need of repair. Example deck around ...

We chose this cruise because it included Iceland & Greenland. These two locations were excellent and the excursions there were well done. Beyond that the Silver Sea experience was more than expected! Cruise Director Vickie was always available for questions and ever smiling. A special call out to our Butler Mustafa, he went beyond our expectations with offerings to help and provided nonstop ...
