Fair Experience - Below Standard for Silversea

We chose Silversea because we wanted to enjoy a luxury cruise and visit beautiful ports in Greece and Italy. We have traveled Silversea in the past and have been very pleased by the experience. However, this experience did not meet expectations. The Ship was old and was in need of refurbishment. She is still a beauty but needs some work to make her look more fresh and inviiting. Our cabin ...

Not quite as expected

We booked a 16 day Med voyage on Spirit , but due to extended refurbishment time, the voyage was cancelled and Silversea offered a number of alternatives. The only cruise to fit our timings was Silver Wind from Barcelona to Athens in April/May. The ship being older and somewhat smaller than the Spirit, was supposed to have been refurbished before our booked voyage, we were somewhat disappointed ...

First Cruise

I chose this cruise considering the size of the ship, ports of call and the reasonable single supplement. Silversea was amazing I would highly recommend them to anyone. I loved the size of the Silver Wind. Its amenities and quality of staff. As to the ports of call, I'm getting a little old for the crowds at most of the stops, but that is just part of the modern world. The best stop was ...

Wonderful Mediterranean Adventure

We selected Silversea Silver Wind because of it's size - not overwhelmingly large for us. This was our first Silversea cruise but it certainly won't be our last. The size of the ship is very manageable and the variety of restaurants was great for the two of us. This was our first time on the Mediterranean as well. We had a very spacious suite/cabin - the walk in closet and extra powder room - ...

A Unique Opportunity

The itinerary was very interesting, including Delos, Corinth Canal, Delphi, Olympia, rather unique opportunities. The food and service were always excellent. Our luggage did not make it to the ship with us, and arrived 4 days later. But the Reception desk personnel (Ramona and staff) kept after it until it was found and transported. We had laundry done for us for the few clothes we had, and ...

We said we would never do a cruise, but we couldn't resist Silver Wind!

We were treated like royalty on Silver Wind! Loved the graceful art-deco décor. Our terraced cabin was luxurious and included ample, intelligent storage space. Four dining rooms, plus round-the-clock-room service and several bars and lounges, meant that we had incredible food and drink choices, particularly for a small ship. The dining and wines far exceeded our expectations. Incredible ...

Not the luxury you would think

I was told that Silversea was highly rated and somewhat luxurious. We picked this cruise because the itinerary sounded interesting. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly-and quickly. We had paid for an escort and van to take us to the airport to return to the US and that was extremely helpful. The average age on this particular cruise was about 75 and there were no children. There ...

Overall the cruise was delightful

Had previously been on Silver Seas and I like the small cruise ship experience. This is the oldest silver seas ship and it is showing its age. The staff is very dedicated and polite and made our stay very pleasant. The Shows are at 10 pm which is too late to sit through as the Silver Seas crowd is older and is up early for the excursions. We enjoyed the truffle hunting excursion, and while ...

Disappointing serivce and ammenities

We picked the trip for the itinerary, and because Silver Seas has a good reputation. Our room was large, but VERY tired and not very clean when we arrived. We were in suite 801. When our butler came to our room we requested a bottle of wine. (We usually receive a bottle of champagne when we arrive in our room) He said nothing was available in the room until after we left the port. We asked ...

A treat and luxury from booking to arriving home

Cruise chosen on basis of cost, size of ship, and knowledge and affability of booking agent, Esther Paine. She was the precursor to the staff all along the way, making this cruise free of inconveniences, unpleasantness, or worry. Excellent in every aspect. Sailing times agreeable, itinerary well chosen, tours plenty and diversified, food enticing, service impeccable. So many staff ...
