Our beautiful Oberoi hotels in Delhi and Agra/Taj Mahal with outstanding food - unfortunately I took many videos instead of photos, so not visible in my review

Chaos from start to fish

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Silver Spirit

We booked 2 back-to-back cruises. Boarding was a joke with only 2 lateral flow testing stations and registration (which itself took some 15 minutes) for 350+ passengers. What we didn't know was that the previous cruise had suffered a Covid outbreak, with all sorts of rumours about numbers circulating amongst those onboard. Thereafter, it soon became obvious that there were problems. 4 restaurants ...

Covid impacted Silver Spirit Cruise

Covid clearly impacted this cruise. We were told that 10 percent of the crew was in quarantine, then told later that it was closer to 50%. This included the cruise director, who was absent the entire cruise, and the captain, who we were told was still providing direction and in charge. Reportedly, no crew member required medical treatment, which was great news. Of course, this impacted ...

Good cruise spoiled by the transfers and some of the details

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Silver Spirit

We last sailed with Silversea 10 years ago (on Silver Spirit) but when we saw a cruise that appealed to us we thought we would give them a try again. We had very little communication from Silversea after booking other than an email explaining their covid procedures. No luggage labels were sent out and they didn’t tell us that would be the case either. On our previous cruise in the Caribbean ...

Not a 6 Star Experience

I chose the newly revamped and stretched Silver Spirit, hoping I would enjoy the cruise to the Western Caribbean and Central America. After boarding the ship in Ft. Lauderdale, I had a wonderful lunch in the main dining room, and so my expections were very high. When I went to my stateroom, I was very impressed with its size, the champagne that was chilled and waiting for me. I met my butler, ...

New restaurants have large but unchanging menus

Silver Spirit at Christmas time is a beautifully decorated ship, as well as one of the most pleasant to cruise. The extension added new cabins as well as enlarging the main dining room. No reservations are needed there, and it was never filled. The menu has multiple choices, but does not vary from day to day during a ten day cruise. There is enough to choose from in the main dining room, and ...

Delightful 18 Nights in South America

Review for a South America Cruise on Silver Spirit

Simply delightful. Traveled solo. With work, it's easier for us to get away individually. As a solo traveler, I never felt "solo". This cruise has gentlemen hosts that make u feel welcome and genuinely interested in u having a great time. There were usually about ten solo travelers that would meet for drinks and dinner nightly. Made some new bff's. We r on the last 2 days of this cruise and it ...

Wow, what a fantastic adventure! Silver Spirit is a beautiful ship, crew is attentive, incredibly service oriented. The destinations were amazing, a blend of nature adventure and opportunities to sample local culture and events. Silver Sea's all inclusive approach makes everything smooth, no awkward moments when meeting with friends or meeting new friends about who gets the tab. Wine enthusiasts, ...

The last few holidays, we have traveled Cunard and loved it. Wanting to embark from the U.S., we decided to give Silversea a try. The marketing suggested upscale and the price certainly reflected upscale. From the outside things looked pretty great. Once we stepped into the cabin, we got a surprise. Start with stains on the floor, drapes, and outer bed blanket. Friends offered to cut the frazzles ...

A Really Nice Cruise!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Silver Spirit

My wife and I took our first Silversea cruise exactly a year ago: a ten-night western Caribbean cruise on the Cloud. We enjoyed it greatly, but felt that the Cloud was a bit too small (296 passenger capacity), a bit too old (1994), and a bit too quirky (some strange public-area design elements, such as no men's room on the deck where the main restaurant and Le Champagne are located; you have to go ...

Another Excellent Silversea Cruise

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Silver Spirit

We are a retired couple in our late 50s and choose itineraries offering a mix of ports and sea days. With this in mind we tend to judge our cruise experience by whether the ship itself offers us the mix of food, facilities and comfort we seek rather than by ports visited. On this cruise we were accompanied by my sister-in-law and her husband who are a couple of years older and had never ...
