Overall we enjoyed this line but likely not enough to be repeat guests. Food was not 6 star quality, not enough variety. At the buffets, often it was overcooked. Wine was very good though.
Entertainment ok. Not great. Didn't like the fact that in all but two of the dining venues you needed a reservation. This allows for no spontaneous food decisions. Also would prefer that the restaurants ...
First time sailing with SS (and Silver Moon) but have sailed on about a dozen other cruises including Seabourne and Oceania many times. Silversea, at least in our experience with this particular cruise was by far the best. 10/10. We were highly impressed.
Beautiful new ship, elegant but also contemporary in design, blended the two perfectly. Suite was on par with Seabourne but with much better ...
I've always heard how amazing Silversea Cruises are, but I was completely underwhelmed for many reasons. First I believe the crew hates Iceland since they're mostly from Philippines and Nigeria. I think they are doing their best but nothing like I read about prior to my cruise. The food was mediocre at best, especially in the main dining room, Atlantide. Pool grill was the best but in spite of ...
ICELAND Silversea Moon – July 2023
SHIP CONDITION / LAYOUT Grade A++
The Silversea Moon as a “ship” is, without debate, one of the finest at sea. The décor, colors, design, layout, suites and public space are all award winning. I love this ship.
OVERALL STAFF SERVICE Grade A++
With rare exception, we encountered the most gracious, helpful and genuine cruise associates – ever.
FOOD ...
I chose SS after great experiences and to try the Silver Moon for the first time. The experience was great, considering the cost, itinerary, and wine selections. A superior offering to other luxury lines such as SB and RSS. The trip excursions were quite good, with several of them in more isolated/exclusive destinations.
In general, the food was excellent in most restaurants, particularly La ...
We were looking for a luxurious experience. We got a standard cruise with a few fripperies thrown in. The ship was lovely, though a little corporate. We were too late booking the speciality restaurants so had to rely on Atlantide and Salt, both of which tried hard but were lacking in the taste and quality of the food provided. Breakfast were a bit of a melee, ie the buffet area is not big enough ...
We chose this cruise because we really liked the itinerary and have always wanted to try Silversea. We were very disappointed. Beginning with no one from Silversea to greet us at the hotel where we had to wait for several hours in the lobby after our plane arrived until we were bused to the pier. After a few hours we took a shuttle to just get out for a bit and have lunch. We understand some ...
Back to cruising after the pandemic hiatus, phew! One week around the Baltic, stopping at some fascinating new places and enjoying what felt mostly like Mediterranean weather came as SUCH a tonic after so many months of dreaming of the sea….
Any initial trepidation about COVID procedures and protocols was quickly quashed by the efficient way in which requirements were communicated and then ...
We always choose cruises for the itinerary and this one was no exception as it took us to the far north then through the Norwegian fjords and then over to the Shetlands and the Faroe Islands and then on to Iceland. Since we have sailed most of the Regent ships and only this Silversea ship, I plan to compare it to Navigator which is a similar size and age. Before we left, a friend noted that he ...
We are long time Silversea cruisers with nearly 400 days and have always defended them. Not any more. We enjoyed our recent cruise but it was hit and miss at best and considerably down market. Forget the dress code, jeans and tracksuits in the restaurant on informal and even formal nights. Guests were scruffy and dare I say unwashed! I actually began to dress down as I wondered why I bothered ...
