The booking was triggered by a trip over Christmas and New Year with the destination Central America. Added to this was the cruise line's "reputation" in the premium segment.
The ship is a very new ship (built in 2023) and therefore the condition of the ship is of course top.

I choose this cruise as I had travelled with Silversea before and it was reasonable/OK. This cruise was hell. No champagne on arrival, chaos, lifts broken and generally disorganised. Did not see butler for the first 26 hours, so no drinks I wished to drink in my minibar. Upon trying to speak to representatives of the cruise line about the situation, first they ignored my calls, then they said that they were never contacted by me or anyone else on the cruise. Then, when I contacted the credit card company, someone emailed me to say that they don't make any decisions, but they see that a cruise credit was offered for a future cruise to a list of passengers, ...
I requested a refund for the cruise we just took on 12/20/2014 - 1/7/2015.
Silversea clearly cheated their naive customers, who paid for the 6-star cruise but received a 2-star experience at best.
- The food was terrible, and they ran out of even of that in the end. There were hardly any fruit, stale nuts and terrible frozen fish.
-The TV was not working properly.
- The new in-residence ...
