Just returned from 16days on Silversea newest ship the Nova. While the ship is beautiful and the service for the most part was exceptional as always on Silversea I personally( actually several passengers agreed ) the Nova was not my cup of tea. The color palette thru out is very monochromatic and frankly dull. The spacious deserted long, long passages within the ship connecting venues made us ...
Our first time on Silversea, but we have sailed many times on their upmarket competitors. I loved almost everything about the design. The ship was 100% full, but it never felt crowded. The food was good, but not great. In particular, we were disappointed with La Terrazza and Kaiseiki. Their internet speeds (delivered via Starling) are excellent IF you sign up for the premium package; lousy ...
Our favorite cruise line, Crystal, went bankrupt. We chose Silversea for the great itinerary, including the Monaco Grand Prix. If we had never taken a Crystal cruise, I would think this was the best ever. Attentive staff, lovely food, included excursions and airfare (upgrades for reasonable prices.) The veranda cabin was delightful.
And yet... we missed the high-quality Crystal entertainment, ...
We chose this cruise purely for the itinerary and the dates. Seabourn was not available for what we needed.
At first we thought we were impressed with the food, but the longer we travelled, we discovered that the menus in the speciality restaurants were disappointing. The Japanese and French themed one (the latter costing $120 per couple extra) were neither Japanese nor French in culture, nor ...
We usually travel on Celebrity's new ships, most recently enjoying the retreat, so we can't compare SS to other luxury lines. The food was excellent - but you need to make reservations in advance to get the times/venue you prefer. Service was excellent. Compared to Celebrity retreat, SS food and service were much better (to us). Many restaurant choices and always someone asking us if we need ...
This was our first cruise with Silversea but eleventh cruise on our 7th different cruise line. Silversea is marketed as luxury 6 Star cruising and this was our first "luxury Cruse." First impressions excellent we did door to door was collected from home, transfer to airport, transfer from airport to hotel and transfer from hotel to cruise port and check in all went seamlessly. The Silver Sprit is ...
Sailing with Silversea as have done before was always going to be an adventure after a number of false starts due to Covid. Sailing from Civitavecchia was a pleasant drive from central Rome. Opting for pre-board Covid testing the system in place was all set up well for embarkation and the whole process ran smoothly.
The boarding was efficient and the cabins were ready as embarkation was from ...
Chose this cruise because of the itinerary (mostly ports we had never visited) and a prior very positive experience on Silversea.
The cruise itself, the staff, the ship, the overall experience was wonderful. However....
The pre-cruise experience was less than such. I will blame Covid. While we were aware that a 24-hour pre-embarkation test was required, which we chose to have administered ...
Overall, the cruise was very enjoyable. The ship was nice, the staff was very pleasant and professional, and the ports that we got to visit were lovely.
This wasn’t our first cruise, but it was our first cruise on a smaller ship (382 passengers) and I’m hoping it won’t be our last. There was no queuing for anything and everything ran smoothly. I’m hoping to stay away from the bigger ships (we ...
My wife and I like small ships rather than the large cruise ships because they are more intimate and feature the ports of call as the selling point versus the large floating hotel concept. We also focus on which ports the cruise will call on rather than the time of year or size of boat. This cruise was the second time on Silver Whisper, a Baltic Sea cruise being the first time. On this cruise we ...
