My husband and I were on the Barcelona to Lisbon cruise. I wanted to provide feedback from two millennials (not generally Silversea's passenger profile) for other millennials. I do want to give you some background on us though. My husband I are both Floridians and as such we often associate cruises with people wearing jorts, anchor-themed shirts, raving about 24 hour glutinous buffets. So I ...
Booked this cruise with my wife who chickened out because she had come down with covid on our previous cruise (see Feb. 2023 Celebrity Edge review)-took our 17 year old brilliant grandson instead. I chose this particular cruise Lisbon-southern Spain, Morocco-because SilverSea Dawn excursions included Jewish historical and cultural sites as well as the more typical. Of course a brand new ship of ...
We traveled Lisbon to Lisbon for 21 days starting mid-October. We chose this cruise because it included many ports we had not visited previously. Unfortunately, they had to cancel two ports - Tangier and Casablanca - presumably due to the situation in the Mideast. But they substituted an extra night in Malaga and Lisbon, so that was fine. Since we have previously cruised with Seabourn, we were ...
First off, I can not understand the negative reviews about this ship, although one has to wonder about someone who complains about how to use a sink! The ship is great and exceeded our expectations. Butler service, bar service and restaurant service were all top notch. Staff were exceptionally friendly without exception. Tours were run well and left on time (a positive for me).
Beds and pillows ...
We chose the cruise because the Adriatic is the most beautiful and most calm see. The views are breathtaking. There are different restaurants on the cruise, but none comes close to the Grill on the 10th floor. The combination of high level cooking and the exceptional friendliness of the staff is the cherry on the cake. Isaac is the person that not only takes care of you, but goes the extra mile ...
The Adriatic, and specifically Croatia and Greece, were our primary focus. Sailing out of Venice (Fusina) and ending in Athens was a perfect itinerary, with daily ports of call in between throughout the region. The door-to-door service provided by Silversea was perfect, and we were met at every stage of the trip by a representative who took care of our every need personally. The attention to ...
We chose Silversea on this occasion for the itinerary, although we have cruised with them before and know that their standard is our standard.
The cruise was superb from start to finish. Although the ship is a little bit tired decor-wise, it did not detract from our enjoyment at all.
The food was of a uniformly high standard. We mostly ate in the main restaurant as the choice is excellent ...
We've sailed on various different cruise lines, some good - Cunard; some average - Celebrity and Fred Olsen; some frankly disappointing - NCL ; but our first taste of Silverseas was way above anything we'd previously experienced. Obviously, Silverseas is more expensive then most, though this does reflect that most of those pesky extras - drinks, specialist meals, excursions, tips - that drive up ...
This was our second time sailing with Silversea. The first was last year on the Silver Moon which is Silver Dawn's twin sister.
The food on Silversea's is very upscale regardless of whether you do the standard dining options or pay for the premium restaurants. Our favorite was a premium restaurant called Kaiseki. It is a Japanese styled restaurant that serves sashimi's, different seafood ...
This was the first cruise we had ever been on and it's interesting how we even found it- we were looking at going on a vacation in the south of Spain and logistics seemed like such a hassle for getting between cities. So, we went in search of a cruise and some criteria included: luxury ship/rooms, long days at port (no ships leaving too early), and no sea days since we did not know how we would ...
