Chose this cruise because Silversea has in the past been good.
Sadly this cruise did not come anywhere near previous experiences.
Boarding very casual. No covid tests or temperature taken at port prior to boarding, according to literature from Silversea this would happen.
Suite very good. No covid precautions on board. Just hand sanitizers. No one was wearing masks.

We chose it because we were celebrating our 50 wedding anniversary
They paid no attention to this fact
Our pre cruise hotel package was horrible, and we had no support from silverseas.
The wine is free, but if you ask for any wine not on “their list”. Costs more.

Past experiences were very good on The Wind, Spirit, and Silver Galapagos.
The dining service on the Muse was deplorable. The food was inedible (we even lost weight on this cruise). Having to make reservations was a chore and the Japanese specialty restaurant was so poor, we felt scammed at $60 per person.

We usually travel on Crystal Cruise Lines our friend told us that Silverseas was as good or better boy was she wrong. Lets start with the positives. Save your money & do not book a Silversea Whisper cruise! My family and I just disembarked from a 9 day Greek Islands cruise (Athens to Venice) and it had to be the worst luxury cruise we have ever taken (previously on Crystal & Oceania). To summarize:

We had a Silver Suite - spacious, clean and reasonably comfortable. Our butler (Ronaldo) was superb. And the Voices of Silversea (singers) were exceptional.
BUT this is not 6* luxury cruising, and they have clearly taken a corporate decision to cut costs wherever they can. For example:

This was supposed to be an “Ultra Luxury cruise with a sophiticated ambience with like minded travellers”. Instead Silversea sold two group bookings so that out of a maximum capacity when full of 380 passengers over 270 were group bookings. The larger group was over 220.
