We have sailed on multiple high end cruise lines including the old Crystal, Regent and the former Silversea. We are in the owner’s suite, which is the top of the line. The room is the high point; only negatives are high step ups to the bathrooms and a shower door installed upside down so you have to bend down to the floor to open it from the inside.
Butler is well meaning and tries hard but not ...
My wife and I started cruising with Seabourn in 1999 a few years before Carnival aquired them. We achieved diamond status while watching Carnival slowly choking the life out of the brand with budget cuts. We left Seabourn at the doorstep to the hospice. We weren’t around for the funeral. Carnival recently tried sell the corpse but nobody wanted to buy it. They have resorted to selling off the ...
Just off the Silver Dawn - Silversea Dawn Transatlantic crossing
My 82nd cruise, first time on an "ultra luxury" 6 star cruise:
Lets make this an easy and interesting review, and tell me what you think..
Pros:
The ship is very clean
Most of the staff are great and try very hard
Elevators are fast
Check in was easy and fast
All Suite Cabins are large and comfortable
Food ...
Ship decor is stunning. Staff was awesome and go above and beyond.
The ship had few public bathrooms.
The food was average and disappointing. I had many meals where I did not finish eating the entree. Main dining room is poorly managed steaks were tough and flavorless.
The Salt bar is lovely and has a wonderful staff.
Cooking class was another highlight. The chef was sincere and ...
We’ve sailed 4 times with Silversea - but never again!
We paid $45,000 for a Silver Suite on Deck 11. Well worth the extravagance - great comfort and butler service very good.
And there the satisfaction ended!
Food aboard is adequate; quality of meat 2 notches below what were used to. Lamb and beef poor. Lobster and turbot very good. Shrimps watery from freezer.
Quality of food ...
The Silver Whisper is advertised as an upscale ship. I guess it depends on what you are looking for on your cruise. Our voyage in the Caribbean was a great disappointment in many respects. The ship itself it's very nice but not great. . The best thing about the Whisper is the crew. They are outstanding in every way.
Drinks are free and that's great. On the other hand, the food was consistently ...
I chose the newly revamped and stretched Silver Spirit, hoping I would enjoy the cruise to the Western Caribbean and Central America. After boarding the ship in Ft. Lauderdale, I had a wonderful lunch in the main dining room, and so my expections were very high. When I went to my stateroom, I was very impressed with its size, the champagne that was chilled and waiting for me. I met my butler, ...
We chose Silver Sea because of the Travel & Leisure review. We are sorry we did. The office staff who booked our reservation proved to be incompetent and unavailable. I had to go to senior management to handle the simplest of questions. Then as time progressed important facts of the cruise kept changing, like the formal dress policy for which my wife had purchase dresses. This continued with the ...
The SILVER WHISPER is a very comfortable small cruise ship only carrying about 350 passengers. We never had to wait in line for anything. The stateroom was spacious and well designed. The bathroom, huge for a ship, included both an area for the shower and a separate tub. There was a huge walk in storage closet, almost a mini cabin in the cabin. Service in the cabin was excellent. Breakfast ...
We chose this cruise because of the total navigation of South America. Unfortunately, we also chose Silversea's newest and largest ship, the Silver Muse. As seasoned Silversea cruisers we have loved all of our previous cruises and all of Silversea's ships, but the Silver Muse is, to date, a litany of disappointments - none of which is down to the ship itself. which is lovely.
It seems to my ...
