We are not seasoned cruisers, but have really enjoyed three previous small ship cruises with Windstar. We were expecting to go up a notch in opting for Silversea, but were sadly disappointed. The one saving grace, was that all the front-facing bar, cleaning, catering and waiting staff were all fantastic, friendly and welcoming.
However, that only demonstrated the contrast with the more senior ...
We booked this back-to-back (31 day) cruise over a year ago. The itinerary took us to ports we’d never been before - Madagascar, Mauritius, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai - and we’d had such a wonderful experience on the Moon a year ago that we were looking forward to a repeat, which of course did not happen. This was our 63rd cruise, but only our 3rd - and most likely our last - on Silversea. Our ...
Thought Silversea's was a high end cruise line. Veteran cruiser with many trips on Oceania, Princes, and many other lines. First: disappointing customer service. One of the reasons we selected this cruise was the itinarary, Auckland to Sydney with a stop at Philip Island to see penguins. Somewhere between booking and sailing they changed the itinarary and eliminated Pillip Island. No notice, ...
This was our 5th Silversea Cruise and we choose it for the Itinerary. First time on the Spirit, embarkation was good, cabin great as usual.
The problems started when because of Jet Lag we woke up at 3am, no internet or Tv working. This went on for 3 days. I even asked if we could move cabins and was asked" why is TV so important to you?" Wowzers, Wasnt expecting that..I said its not important ...
The door to door service and cruise itself was fine. The chosen ports were nice destinations. Also, the staff onboard is friendly and engaging. The food in the restaurants is ok, drinks at the bar are good, wine selection OK. entertainment is also fine. We didn’t see our butler very often.
Last minute changes on excursions was not very well organised and deviating information was given to ...
My husband and I just returned from the Silver Whisper in Japan. A little background, we have over 25 cruises under our belts including 5 since Covid ended, this cruise being our 6th post-Covid. We have cruised Seabourn, Oceania, Viking, Azamara, and suites on Royal, NCL, and Celebrity as well as regular rooms on Princess and Royal.
The Great
The food quality and preparation were excellent ...
This was a strange mixture of everything from perfect to intolerable on a small ship luxury voyage.
One perfect part was the “door-to-door” performance, cost is a different matter, but performance was perfect. The limo transfers at home, via BlackLane, were on time and the drivers were excellent. The transfer from Haneda to the Tokyo Conrad was also perfect. The Conrad was an excellent ...
We chose this cruise because we had heard that the food was excellent and the excursions good.
The ship is only 3 years old but looks much older. We tried every restaurant on the ship, even La Dame where we had to pay $60 each extra. Le Dame was by far the best of a bad bunch but the meals were still sub par.
The terrace restaurant was basically inedible. Even the buffet which was poorly ...
Not value for a 5/6 stars cruise.
First, the cabin is outdated and lack of maintainence. The shower room is very small and full of watermark at the edge. Very unpleasant. The bathtub is good size but yellowish. No one want to soak in such an old bathtub. The carpet is not flat. Absolutely needs replacement. You can see broken stage in the Show Lounge, I only came there for safety brief. I ...
This cruise (Papeete to Auckland) was a disappointment from start to finish. Check in was horrible - long queue outside the ship in the hot sun, 5 different check in points over a long distance, being asked for my passport 5 times, then a 2 hour wait in one of the ship's bars because my room wasn't ready. The room (they call them "suites" but I don't think they are good enough to be called that) ...
