Silversea psssengers expect a luxury cruise and for the most part we received that. Beautiful ship and well designed. All the cabins on one side and all the restaurants on the other for a quiet cabin. Good choice of included tours for this unique Caribbean itinerary. A few minor issues accommodating the disabled such as my spouse but this was due to Caribbean infrastructure so be sure to double ...
This was our second Silversea cruise and our second time on the Silver Dawn. We liked departing from Barbados to avoid the sea days from Florida but the actual port facility in Bridgetown is more industrial and less convenient for cruising with two shuttle bus rides – one to a warehouse building for check in and another to the actual ship. Other than that, the embarkation (and disembarkation) ...
This was a 21-day b2b from Jan 5 to Jan 26 with a quite unusual itinerary. I chose it because it included some ports to which I had not been and many which are not visited by many cruise lines. We were the only ship in most places.
The ship – The Silver Dawn is a new ship which had just come out in 2022. It was in beautiful shape with no rust and no worn places. It has an unusual layout – ...
This was our first cruise on Silversea but we have cruised all the ultra luxury brands recently and wanted to see how Silversea stacked up. They were good but we prefer Regent, Seabourn and Explora Journeys over them. I think with some improvements they can be really good but for now they are just not the cruise line for us. We are in our mid 60s and cruise often. The vibe on the ship was a little ...
This was our second Silversea cruise and 22th cruise overall. We sailed on 12 different lines, including Crystal, Oceania, Azamara and more.
Overall, it was a great cruise, but I wasn't "blown away". The service was very good to excellent overall, but we didn't feel that they "learn our preference and anticipate our needs".
Embarkation: very smooth and quick. We arrived at the terminal at ...
We are sixty-something small ship cruisers with around 150 days under our belts with Seabourn, Silversea and Viking. I will say up front that we have not cruised with Seabourn since the pandemic struck and, though I list Viking above, its really not fair to lump them in the same class as Silversea, Seabourn and Regent, whose ships are only 2/3 the size and arguably catering to a different market ...
This was our first Silversea cruise, having been on Seabourn, Azamara , R7S and Viking.
On the positive side , the staff were attentive and the level of service was exemplary. We also were pleased that the dress code was well followed : Even on casual nights everyone was very smart , and the formal nights were a real occasion. (Other cruise lines seem to be letting standards drop).
We are ...
We chose this cruise primarily for the itiniary and except for the New Zealand ports (Auckland and Bay of Islands) everything was new to us. There is no doubt that sailing on a luxury ship like Silver Shadow through Melanesia, Micronesia and the Philippines can't get any better and Silversea did an excellent job choreographing the whole process.
This was our first Silversea experience as we've ...
My wife and I chose Silversea to experience another luxury cruise line after recently (Nov 21) having sailed in the Mediterranean with Seabourn. The embarkation process was smooth in Fort Lauderdale and we were soon on the ship. We boarded after 2 pm and the cabins were ready at 4 pm. Our initial impression of the Silver Dawn was that while a new ship, the interior decoration was quite ...
Just finished up a Christmas cruise to the West Indies on the Silver Dawn. Eleven days, Ft. Lauderdale – Ft. Lauderdale. Ship almost full.
Embarkation: No real problem. It did take about 40 minutes, but this was more because of the procedures of the Ft. Lauderdale port rather than Silversea. Passengers were allowed on at 2pm greeted with a warm welcome and a cold towel. Suites were not ready ...
