Writing this now because I can not believe that SilverSea has been named best luxury cruise line. As far as we are concerned never again. To start with the positives- our butler and steward were both absolutely fantastic. So were the staff in the medical centre which I visited each day to have a dressing changed . However the praise stops there. Food, decor and entertainment all very ...

Expensive cruise (cost me 10k with flight) staff never bothered (only waiters giving out drinks all the time) Partially disabled and ordered wheelchair to board the ship. When I arrived was told none available they had ran out but only a couple of yards to walk or wait 1/2 hour. I walked, Almost 100 yards. Struggled. Passengers asked if I needed help. Staff didn't bother. Lots of restaurants ...

Choose cruise because the iteniary was interesting with stops in NYC, Newfoundland and Ireland. Ship is very lovely but the food services are TERRIBLE. The food preparation, service (never hot in serving temperature), quality and selection of food venues is the worst of any of my over 1000 sailing days on various lines. Basically only 2 inside restaurant choices for lunch daily. Both serving ...

We chose this cruise to travel with friends who are disabled seniors ; the line advertises many handicap accessible excursions. NOT! Only one stop could accommodate a wheel chair rolling off; other stops required being carried in a wheelchair down two very steep outdoor flights of stairs that were very frightening, especially slick and wet. Also, the elevator to the upper decks was out most of ...

A debacle

Let me add my voice to the choir of complaints about the awful September 2017 Silversea cruise that was supposed to circumnavigate Newfoundland but did not. Like others on this forum, I have found Silversea management to be utterly deaf to our laments. We were delayed in Manhattan for two days for the good reason that Hurricane Jose had stalled directly in our path north to Canada. On the third ...

We were detained in NYC for two days and then sailed directly into the waters affected by Hurricane Jose - 20 foot seas for more than a day . Thanks God we didn't lose an engine !!! Missed three ports of call that most would consider among the more important of the itinerary , while spending an extra day at sea . The captain was nowhere to be found and his daily briefings , which were hard ...

We chose this cruise because it circumnavigated Newfoundland. They changed our schedule and eliminated half the cruise and 4 stops AFTER we left port, and no one will answer our emails or phone calls regarding a refund. We spent well over $30,000 on this 12 day cruise and they will not even respond to our inquiry. The menu was nearly all meditteranean and had very little variety and no local ...

Were do I start, 6 Star Cruise Line (Silver Seas Silver Whisper) my 88 year old mother-in-laws last cruise (she thinks), with two of her three daughters and one son-in-law to help push her wheelchair...priceless...not even close! Between the four of us we have been on eighty plus cruises from Carnival to Seabourn so we have seen our fair share of substandard cruise food, but Silver Seas set a new ...

We just got home from a 10 night cruise to Canada, the Maritime Provinces and ports in New England. Because of a severe storm, we did not get to see the Maritime Provinces. One cannot fault the ship or crew for that. The food was very good, sometimes exceptional. The food and beverage service was excellent. The butler and maid were exceptionally good. The enrichment lecturer was knowledgeable and ...
