Chose this cruise as it was a small ship and it sailed to Seward Alaska, rather than just to Skagway as many do. The most disappointing thing was the very poor entertainment. Only had a show at 10pm each night with a singing crew. It was like a visit to Vegas every night without the lights. You basically had to make your own entertainment. So a drink at the bar it was or a movie on TV. However the movies were few and far between - the same movie being repeated all day. There were no activities to meet other travelers. There was no shared seating at dining tables, so again it was difficult to meet other travellers. The room was comfortable although it was tight as it had too much furniture. We had our own butler and he was from India, so it was clear the only person that mattered was the male. I found this quite rude. The shore excursions were exclusive and expensive. It would have been ok, if you could have shared some of the group type activities such as 4WD but we were travelling only as a couple. A newsletter was delivered the evening before the following days activities, which was not sufficient notice and it lacked detailed information on the days activities etc. Attire was stuffy. No jeans after 6pm. Informal nights were stuffy as a tie was not sufficient, you had to wear a jacket. Formal nights they suggested Tuxedo, but no one wore these. That is a rediculous way to holiday if you ask me. Who wants to carry Tuxedos around? Dining was generally of a high standard, however the buffet was served by the staff and they offered very small portions. On many occasions, the travellers were asking for more and complaining amongst themselves of the servings. In particular one morning an English gentlemen wa asking for baked beans on toast. I heard him ask 3 times to fill it up. the small spoon offering of baked beans was a joke. This is supposed to be a luxury ship and spending $0.50 on baked beans seemed a big ask. It was also lovely being personally escorted to your table by the Head Waiter on formal nights. That did make me feel somewhat special. Whilst we are not big drinkers, it was nice that it was an all-inclusive ship. There was only 1 exclusive restaurant that few were able to get into. We were successful in getting into this restaurant and the food was exceptional. The wine was somewhat over priced however. Overall, my opinion is that I would not travel in this style again, as it was too stuffy and unfriendly. It was boring on sailing days as there was little to do. Read Less

The shore excursions are a rip off, we did a fishing trip where we never had a chance to even touch a fishing pole. Because they put 6 of us on a tiny boat and pulled names who ever got to go first fished until they caught a salmon. Problem was only two people got a chance to fish they caught a on of other fish just not salmon. So 4 of us never were able to fish. Which it cost $290 a person for this Salmon fishing excursion. It took 4 days on the cruise to get them to get back to us and they only refunded half of our money for two adults. It didn't end there I received the worst massage at their spa I had to tell the woman 7 times to please not use so much pressure, there was an obvious lack of training. Also if you do not make reservations in the restraunts prior to the trip you will not get into the during the trip you have to eat at their open seating restraunt, every night. All the pre requests were not met. Other than house keeping and butler staff the cruise was horrible. I would never recommend Silverseas. They try and sell you stuff non stop. We are used to luxury hotels and the conditions were far from it. The first four days the water in the shower and tub smelled like waste water, it was putrid. I filled the bath and the water was brown... Not work $9900 for two people. The food is pretty much the same in all the restraunt severe night just slight changes. The quality was very poor, the wait staff I will say is very good. Read Less
