The door to door service and cruise itself was fine. The chosen ports were nice destinations. Also, the staff onboard is friendly and engaging. The food in the restaurants is ok, drinks at the bar are good, wine selection OK. entertainment is also fine. We didn’t see our butler very often.
Last minute changes on excursions was not very well organised and deviating information was given to ...
We traveled Lisbon to Lisbon for 21 days starting mid-October. We chose this cruise because it included many ports we had not visited previously. Unfortunately, they had to cancel two ports - Tangier and Casablanca - presumably due to the situation in the Mideast. But they substituted an extra night in Malaga and Lisbon, so that was fine. Since we have previously cruised with Seabourn, we were ...
First cruise under Royal Caribbean brand ! Have enjoyed Several SS cruises before it was sold.
RC had already bumped us from maiden voyage on Dawn so have been reluctant to revisit SS , however the new design Nova enticed us to return.
New design has positive and negative aspects. The constant during our cruise was the outstanding efficiency and friendliness on the entire crew. ...
I really mean 3.5 as a rating.
We had also been on this ship when we did the Grand Voyage around South America earlier in the year...which met expectations.
Not so much here. Our bathroom smelled for an odour coming from the bathroom. They tried to find the source but could not stop it. So eventually the staff (with one exception) agreed that there was no smell. So when we were ashore we ...
This is not our first time on Silversea. As a matter of fact we have over 100 days. My last 2 cruises I have seen a steady decline in EVERYTHING. I think the writing is on the wall with Silversea.
For starters the food.
They CLAIM they have fine ding, excellent food and offer a gastronomic experience. The gas part is the only true part of that statement. At times, the food is ...
This was our second time sailing with Silversea. The first was last year on the Silver Moon which is Silver Dawn's twin sister.
The food on Silversea's is very upscale regardless of whether you do the standard dining options or pay for the premium restaurants. Our favorite was a premium restaurant called Kaiseki. It is a Japanese styled restaurant that serves sashimi's, different seafood ...
This cruise was attractive as it went through the Middle East from Mumbai and we had already traveled twice with SilverSeas prior the sale to Royal Caribbean. Both trips were excellent with Italian class.
On this trip the cabins are fine and the staff just excellent….but..
Many on board agreed the food had gone backwards in quality ,was tasteless and most of the wine offerings were very ...
Firstly the ship was only two thirds full and we were on board for 28 days. If you paid half of what they asked it would be still expensive and not value.
The Seishin restaurant is supposed to be Japanese themed with a surcharge of US$40 per head. The Wagyu beef which is supposed to be marbled was not and the Miso soup was like beef broth. Any resemblance to Japanese was coincidental.
The ...
Kudos to Kenneth Whetstone of Silversea - my second fantastic cruise through his efforts! Following is a “trip report” that I sent him. Having seen some “iffy” reviews on Cruise Critic about Silversea before I wanted to give credit where credit was due!
……Of all the people I met on my cruise, I seemed to have the “best of the best” in both hotel and suite service! Of course, I beamed from ear ...
This was our first Silversea cruise and 19th cruise overall. We sailed on 10 different lines, including Crystal, Oceania, Azamara and more.
Overall, it was a great cruise, but I must say I expected more from a "6 star line with intuitive service". The service was good to very good overall, but we didn't feel that they "learn our preference and anticipate our needs".
Embarkation: very smooth ...
