I have been on over 80 cruises.None of them on a luxury line. This was special for my 60th birthday. Also being single, had to find one that did not break the bank.I didnt want to regret never doing a high end cruise. So booked this one.Big mistake.Definitely would have enjoyed 3 regular cruises so much more.
It was a very small ship. There was so much rocking and swaying. I spent 1 day ...
We cruised with Silversea twice previously and felt it somewhat comparable to Regent. However, those cruises were more than 5 years ago and having having been on a Regent cruise in December 2018, we can definitely say there is no comparison. The Silver Wind is long, long overdue for an overhaul. We paid for the Owner’s Suite and it was worn and sadly out of date. Not the “luxury” one would ...
I have been cruising with Silversea since 2002, when it was one of the top luxury lines in the world. Since RCL bought Silversea last year, things have certainly declined (if my recent cruise on the Silver Wind is any indication). Cruising from San Juan to Barbados (3/3-3/10/2019), I was dismayed at the difference in quality. Staff caught in blatant lies regarding poor tender schedule, with ...
We've cruised with Silversea about a dozen times. Unfortunately, this one is at the bottom of the ranking list.
We convinced another couple to join us. For three days after reporting it, they endured a fire alarm that went off several times a day and water leaking through a ceiling light fixture. I finally intervened and helped get them moved to another suite. I made it very clear Silversea ...
Booked because of the top notch reputation of Silversea.
Was extraordinarily disappointed. The condition of the ship was so tattered that it was clear that she needed a full restoration. Tattered draperies (& with "moth" holes) into theatre. Broken/scratched brass railings in theatre. Rugs worn , dirty and stained. Cabin furniture had scratches. Cabin doors had peeling paint. Balcony ...
This was my first cruise with Silverseas and unfortunately it was not what I expected ! The ship was very " tired " and tatty in places, it is in my opinion ready for either a complete refurbishment or ready for retirement from the fleet. Cabins are definitely in need of upgrading, carpets were in need of replacing, no tea or coffee facilities and bathrooms were cold and tired. Balcony was rusty ...
According to American law no royalties are due for music composed before 1923. Silversea's playlist reflects that fact. Their live music is not performed by a band but by a "Quartet". No singer - none needed for a repertoire primarily consisting of Cha-cha-cha and various nondescript. So unfortunately we had to head straight for our cabin after dinner.
If you don't like listening (or dancing) ...
