It's complicated

Chose this cruise because of the itinerary (mostly ports we had never visited) and a prior very positive experience on Silversea. The cruise itself, the staff, the ship, the overall experience was wonderful. However.... The pre-cruise experience was less than such. I will blame Covid. While we were aware that a 24-hour pre-embarkation test was required, which we chose to have administered ...

We were the first cruise passengers on after the big stretch! This cruise was Rome to Barcelona, taking in Portofino, Cannes, Porto Vechio, Corsica,Livorno, and Marseille We checked in as expected, at about 2pm suites would usually be ready but were not, finishing touches being made so got in about 3.30pm Nice suite no. 757 some problems, the safe did not work or TV or phone. Adjoining ...

From past experience with Silversea and this was a new itinerary for us. Positives were the usual Silversea attention and courtesy. Food not quite as good as in previous cruises. On shore excursions disappointing excessively lengthy. Morning excursions sometimes returned to ship too late for lunch except on the pool deck where it was sometimes too cold to ne outside. However deck service was ...

The good and the bad

The service everywhere on the ship was excellent. The only area where Silversea dropped the ball was on embarkation. We waited well over an hour after getting our baggage in the airport in Paris, for the bus to take us to Rouen. We like the formal nights. The people dress well unlike other lux lines. The quality and the variety of the food is very good at breakfast and lunch. Although we ...

Very good, but some not so good aspects.

We very much enjoyed this cruise, met some lovely people and saw some very interesting places. Ship and standard of service was, as usual, very good and, overall, all staff were excellent. While we were pleased overall, there were some disappointing aspects. Over some 15 years, we've been on a number of Silversea cruises. Previous cruises were on their smaller ships. We wanted to try one of ...

First time on Silversea

We chose the cruise for its itinerary. Unfortunately, the "Bordeaux" stop was at an abandoned container dock 100 km from Bordeaux, so not having purchased a costly all-day shore excursion, we didn't see Bordeaux, so that was disappointing. The rest of the itinerary was as stated, and we enjoyed the ports immensely. Eleven days without a sea day made for a very busy cruise. Service was ...

We spent four days in lovely Barcelona before embarking the Spirit from Terminal Sur, WTC. We stayed at the Hotel Colón, fronting the Cathedral at Barrio Gotic. We had, not a balcony, but a terrace overlooking the cathedral, inclusive of lounging chairs and many plants. The location was perfect, everything walkable! On the fifth day, we embarked with a smile on our faces, as the ship looked ...

I love photography and choose my destinations based upon the best opportunities to practice my hobby. Having recently lost my husband I needed an easy way to travel to a variety of locations on my own. Silversea was offering a sensational single supplement and I always wanted to visit Rome and Barcelona, so it was the perfect solution. I was a little worried I would stick out like a sore thumb. ...

Once again Silversea delivered. Having booked onboard last year to do back to back cruises from Venice to Istanbul and then into the Black Sea, our itinerary had been changed due to the political situation in Ukraine. Whilst this meant that we were visiting some of the same ports twice, on an port intensive cruise this gave us the chance to create our own sea days, sometimes with only a ...

Very Enjoyable Cruise, With Some Observations

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Silver Spirit

Enjoyed the May 31st, 10 day cruise from Rome to Venice with some caveats. Embarkation was quick and DH and I had a lovely light lunch at the pool grill. Sail-away party was disappointing due to unresponsive servers at the pool grill. We had to hail waiters for canapés and for drinks being supposedly passed to all. Thankfully, our apprehensions as to service for the rest of the cruise were ...
