On the two previous cruises with Silver Sea we had a suite with veranda, and we thought we would have the same. The suite had no openable window. The headboard vibrated continuously, especially at ship's idle power, and the wall/partition to the closet reverberated loudly. We could not sleep for the first two nights, and took sleeping pills afterwards. The cabin was totally unacceptable. Bar en-suite contained 2 bottles of beer and 2 bottles of water, plus some sodas; on previous cruises, it was fully stocked. WI-FI, could not send or receive emails. Read Less

Ok, the cabin was fine. We were on level 4 because we are never in it. Nice shower and water pressure. Had tub and could hang laundry. Nice desk settee area to dump stuff. Butler was sweet but she and associate were not done several times upon arrival at room. If they were given our tour schedules, you'd never know it. But that's not major, just an observation. Made it a little awkward. Champagne gift was a waste. We don't like champagne so gave it away. Free minibar was nice but didn't use. Cabin was relatively roomy and bed was very good. Had no problem sleeping. Read Less

Even though this cabin was one of the least expensive, it was lovely. It was bright and roomy. It was fairly cool at all of our destinations so no need for a veranda. The new design of the bathroom was attractive but the sink sprayed water everywhere every time you used it. The faucet was on the side of the sink so functionality was compromised. A warning - there is one electrical outlet that is 220. It was no marked and I ended up burning up a hair dryer when I used it. The other outlet was 110 and was fine. Read Less

The Cabin on Deck 4: Let me tell you it is the biggest suite we have ever cruised, and we booked the least expensive regular cabin and it was huge. It has 4 separate sections. 1) First we walked in we noticed a soaking tub for 2 people, as well as a large shower ( for a cruise ship) As well as plenty of space for toiletries on the granite bathroom counter with dual sinks. Our fabulous butler brought us balloon's for my birthday, yes we celebrated my birthday on the ship as well, and we had a bath drawn for us 2 nights out of our 10 day cruise. We felt spoiled and well taken care of! We even had our sunglasses cleaned and polished with a polishing cloth that was left for us, and my husband also had his shoes shinned, and at the end of our trip our luggage was thoroughly cleaned inside and out. 2) The second section was the walk in closet space with enough hangers to hang all our clothes and plenty of spare room in the closet and a 6 drawers tall chest of drawers. There was plenty of room to change our clothes in the closet area. 3) The King bed area, also had two end tables on each side as well as a vanity at the foot of the bed with a TV in the wall area, which doubled as a mirror when the TV was off. There was plenty of cabinets in which to store things, but we didn't end up using it. 4) The fourth area had a curtain that could be drawn between the seating area with a coffee table, couch and sitting chair. It also had another TV in the wall/mirror area and another vanity area. This area also had a refrigerator that was stocked with our favorite drinks as well as fresh ice everyday. We did not spend much time in the cabin because we toured everyday, but when we did spend time in it, we loved the space! Read Less

Suite 411 is fine. As much space and the same facilities as a veranda suite but without a, er, veranda. We found the furnishings and facilities to be in very good condition and the suite was maintained impeccably by our room steward. The wardrobe area is easily large enough even for OH's clothing storage requirements. And the bathroom has a seperate bath and shower. Yippee. (And 2 basins but I've never found I've needed more than one at once although it does mean that you and your partner can get it on with a bit of stereo toothbrushing.) Each suite has a butler but the butler serves several suites. Quite how he always managed to be available when we wanted him remains a mystery. From looking after the minibar to getting our tax-free smokes, making reservations, serving breakfest or whatever he never put a foot wrong. Best of all, he never called on us - on another line we had a room steward who would call every now and then to see if we needed anything. At my age I can ask and prefer to be left alone. I find the TV screens in the mirrors quite fun and once you've learned that the remote control sensor is in the grill under the mirror there are no problems with the system. The in-laws couldn't get their's to work but that was because of all the stuff arranged on the shelf in front of the grill. Stuff moved, TV worked. QED. There is an extensive selection of on-demand films for a quiet night in. Read Less

Lowest price accommodation with only a large picture window, no balcony. Though accustomed to balconies we did not find this a problem. Room was very clean and well kept. As with all the cabins, the bathroom was well equipped with both a good sized shower and a separate well equipped tub. The siting area was spacious. Admittedly, aside from sleeping we spent little time in the room. Our room was just behind the main restaurant (Zero noise o& zero traffic as cabin is down a private side hall) and very close access to embarkation points. Convenient. Fast elevators and stairway very close by but not too nearby. Read Less
