I chose Silver Seas because of the great service, great food and wonderful staff. Getting on board is always easy and fast, and a nice welcome from our butler. Couldn't wait to have my first glass of champagne. The staff is helpful and friendly every day - not just the first day. Where to begin?? I chose Silversea because I had always wanted to sail on a smaller ship, and this 17 year old ship only holds 382 passengers. The itinerary was a 14 night sailing from Seward, Alaska to Tokyo, Japan. My husband and I just finished a fabulous cruise on the Silver Shadow. Our son lives in Japan so it was a great way to go there. The crossing was good except for one rough night. The service on the ship was perfect! The butlers were there when needed and did everything they could to make sure your every need was handled. The food was good as was the wine selections.
