"Our travel agent correctly recommended we do Denali on the front end of the trip not only to allow time for flight/luggage disasters, but to go from average hotels to the lap of luxury, rather than the reverse.Once we got to the ship, we had booked just a Veranda room since we had sailed in Alaska previously and knew that all it does is rain and the weather is consistently cold...."Read More

1-10 of 63 Silversea Silver Shadow Luxury Cruises Reviews
We chose this particular cruise because of the itinerary - the line was secondary but intriguing as we had never sailed on Silversea before.
This was our first time cruising with the Silversea cruise line. It is the luxury side of the Royal Caribbean family of cruise lines. Prior to this we had one other encounter with another luxury cruise line - Regent - and for the most part Silversea ...
This was our first cruise with Silversea. Our overall impression was that the vessel, service and other offerings justified the premium price paid. Silver Shadow is an older cruise ship but it was in superb condition and very clean. With a passenger capacity of 360, its smaller size did not diminish its ability to cope with those few days when the weather turned a little rough.
This was an ...
We chose this cruise primarily for the itiniary and except for the New Zealand ports (Auckland and Bay of Islands) everything was new to us. There is no doubt that sailing on a luxury ship like Silver Shadow through Melanesia, Micronesia and the Philippines can't get any better and Silversea did an excellent job choreographing the whole process.
This was our first Silversea experience as we've ...
Originally, we were booked on a Holland America Line (HAL) Alaska cruise with a Denali land extension. We have sailed HAL twice and enjoyed them. We have sailed Oceania many times also. But, when I spotted a Travelzoo deal for the same itinerary on Silversea Silver Shadow, we rebooked. Basically paid the same price as HAL but had the benefit of Silversea figuring out the air, transfers, all ...
I have been on this ship before and enjoyed it. The cabins spacious, the food excellent, entertainment not the best, but OK and the staff so courteous and helpful.
On the 2nd port this time we were put into lockdown in our cabins while a patient results were awaited and unfortunately he was positive for Covid-19 15 March 2020
End of cruise holiday.
Food is excellent ...
Prime reason for picking this cruise Falkland Islands on my bucket list.
Ship has a wow factor with the addition of Arts Cafe and new style reception and boutiques.
Restaurant and La Terrazza comfortable dinning venues. La Dame seating layout not to our taste, Grill uncomfortable now cushions are not available for the chairs.
Food spoiled on many occasions by being cold mainly in the ...
Embarked in Barbados after a 3-day visit to that pleasant but (to me) mildly dull island. Embarkation was so easy we weren't sure if we were done (!) and cabin was available immediately. Our butler Daniel has helped me understand the point of a butler on a cruise ship (on prior ships we never saw them, didn't see the point) - eg. he polished my husband's shoes without us asking and found him a ...

THE GOOD
With fewer than 400 passengers it never seems crowded and there are rarely any lines for anything. Landed at FLL at 1:30, on board and in cabin by 2:00. While the staff on virtually all cruise lines is courteous and helpful, I believe that of Silverseas is a notch above the rest. The lunch buffet (La Terrazza) is among the best afloat. Best ...
Overall, the cruise was very enjoyable. The ship was nice, the staff was very pleasant and professional, and the ports that we got to visit were lovely.
This wasn’t our first cruise, but it was our first cruise on a smaller ship (382 passengers) and I’m hoping it won’t be our last. There was no queuing for anything and everything ran smoothly. I’m hoping to stay away from the bigger ships (we ...
This was our 59 cruise and second experience with Silver Seas.
We always travel during January and February to get away from the cold of the Northeast of the USA. And we always, always, look at the itinerary first with any cruise line.
We picked the Silver Shadow for our third trip to Asia and all but one port was new for us.
The Philippines added to our booking as we always wanted to ...
