We are disappointed in almost every respect. The food is probably the worst. Dining hours often do not correspond in any useful way with the excursion hours. The menu is beautifully written up, but the food poorly prepared. For example, we have twice been served fish so over cooked we have just about needed a knife to saw through it. Pastries meet a typical supermarket standard. Breakfast sausages ...
Having gone off SS some years ago after 2 weeks on Silver Wind and 6 rich French Cigar Smokers spoiling enjoyment it was with some trepidation we booked Silver Muse Japan Itinery because it did ports other lines did not and especially chance to see KenroykanGarden .
The ship is stunning as is our standard suite , staff are lovely , food is great cannot fault any of it so far beautiful granite ...
We chose this itinerary because it was (primarily) around Japan during the Cherry Blossom season, and we travelled with a lovely British couple we have known for years. This past summer we cruised for the sixth time with Seabourn and, despite post pandemic, Seabourn (the newer ship) was as good as it ever has been. Not so Silversea.
To be sure, the Muse is still a luxury product but a step or, ...
Doubtless, this is a comfortable and clean ship with excellent cabins ( apart from a hard mattress ) and has some very obliging crew, especially the butler and cleaner assigned to our suite.
Beyond that though: The number 1 complaint is the food, which is substandard at best. In 2 weeks we never once had a complete meal where we were satisfied. The meat was completely tasteless on every ...
Having read some of the previous reviews I was a bit nervous about taking part in what was an expensive holiday for us. Adding to the concerns were the problems with arranging flights back to UK from Japan - Silverseas obviously work to a limited budget and it took several attempts to find a flight that didnt require over 24 hours travel, crossing Tokyo in a couple of hours one side to the ...
This was part of a broader holiday experience acquired through Imaging Cruising. Reason for going was to visit places that were on our travel wish list - Singapore, Vietnam, HK and especially Japan. It was a late booking and we were fortunate to be given a cabin upgrade by Silversea on embarcation, which just made the whole adventure better.
Neither of us are particular lovers of 'days at sea' ...
We choose this cruise because it left Melbourne which suited us. we always loved Silversea‘s, and that was the Reason to cruise with them, sad to say this is the last cruise with them ,I can’t understand how people can give this cruise five stars. This has been the worst cruise we had with Silversea‘s ever. If you do the ships tour, it is beautiful. no doubt about it I have no trouble recommending ...
We have waited over three years for this vacation to New Zealand and Australia. Our expectations were not as high as in the past due to global post pandemic supply chain issues, global personnel shortages, the restart of the Silver Muse only one month earlier. We also had suffered through three cancellations of this trip due to the pandemic and the closing of New Zealand and Australia. While ...
My wife and I chose this cruise as a sampler of Silversea for future longer cruises. We wanted to try a top quality cruise line, and had sailed the same route - down the east coast of NZ - with Celebrity Solstice in 2020 just before COVID, but wanted to try a smaller ship and larger cabin/suite.
We chose door-to-door and got business class airfares from Sydney to Auckland to start the cruise, ...
Chose this cruise as dates and itinerary fitted our schedule. Usually cruise with Regent Seven Seas. So this was the standard for comparison.
Transfer from airport and embarkation at Sydney was an omnishambles. No procedures, no information, no-one in charge, lack of communication, no instructions. Had to hunt for contact at airport. Took us to the 4 Seasons Hotel where no one was ...
