Our cabin came with windows that looked out over the third deck level. We didn't realize that people coming up the exterior stairs of the ship would look right into our cabin. As a result, we had to keep our shades closed all trip for privacy. The finish of our cabin needs a face lift. Our bath area showed wear and tear, particularly in the shower where rust was evident. We had two stewards who kept our cabin very clean and were responsive to any requests. Read Less

Agree with others who have already posted about this cruise: - This deck is on same level as the Explorer Lounge gathering room, from which all daily excursions leave, and the return doors to the ship after excursions. It is VERY convenient! - "Butlers" Jamil and Evan kept things spiffy, but their roles on this ship are no different from cabin stewards on any other cruise we have been on, so not sure why "butler" is used. They even kept us stocked with extras of our favorite snacks. - There are 3 windows starting at chest height, but they are streaked with salt on the outside, there is a broad overhang from the deck above, and there are folks walking around the perimeter deck, so they are useful for light but not any view. We kept our gauzy outer drapes closed much of the time. - This cabin is right next to an electric winch to let down the landing stairs. It can be quite noisy, although is never used at night. - Closets are generous, with large drawer beneath. - Bathroom is minute, although the nice shower is plenty large enough. I found it actually easiest to wash my hands and face while seated on the WC. - There is a single clothesline in the shower to dry bathing suits and laundry. Need more! - At anchor, the ship rolls gently but steadily side-to-side, with a periodicity of 5 seconds. You must close the doors to the safe, the closet, and the bathroom tightly, or they bang loudly every 5 seconds. Once underway, there is no substantive motion issue. Read Less

Our stateroom was exceptionally clean, and it was kept tidy and well stocked several times a day, in a very unobtrusive way, by our butler, Danny, and by our suite attendant, Ivan. We had absolutely no issues with maintaining a comfortable temperature. Requests for wash cloths as well as copies of menus and wine lists (see images) were almost immediately fulfilled. All the plumbing worked as it should: plenty of hot water, and with adequate pressure; and no toilet issues. Our room location was ideally located. Other passengers and crew could potentially walk along deck just outside the windows and look in, but nothing the shades and a little discretion could not alleviate. Read Less

We were in an Explorer suite. Overall a very nice suite. This does not have a veranda or terrace. I think I might like one of those next time so that one can sit outside while we are sailing. Also, extra space to dry the swimming clothes! The Explorer room is plenty big enough and so is the bathroom, unlike on some ships. And our butler, Jamil, and attendant, Ivan, kept our room neat and clean throughout the day, not just in the morning. We did like being on the same deck (3) as the Explorer Room where everyone gathers prior to heading out on each expedition and where lectures are held and films are shown. Read Less
