Our family (My, Husband, 13 yo son) was excited to try the new Wonder of the Seas for our Thanksgiving cruise. We are platinum on Royal, but have never cruised on an Oasis class ship before and were excited to try all of the new offerings. Although we had some good moments, overall the ship felt way too crowded. We will probably not sail on a ship this size again. I will give the good and the ...
Well, we just got off Wonder for the Thanksgiving Cruise. 7-Night Eastern Caribbean out of Port Canaveral (I don’t know why it shows the Asian itinerary at the top???) I will give you my absolute honest review. I was told there were 6700 passengers on board. 6700!!! So, knowing that number would probably push her limits, my expectations were already curbed considerably.
First, the good:
She ...
I’ve been to many cruises and finally chose this cruise as it’s new and the itinerary attracts me. However, this cruise is really a huge mess! First the boarding at Shanghai, wow, i thought they had organised us in regions to wait to board, However, when we were led by a staff to board the cruise first, there was suddenly a large crowd who were waiting at the gate before us, thus we are not first ...
Embarkation : The worst check in experience so far . No queue control n poor signage leading to lot of confusion . No enough RCL in hand to direct queue .
Food quality : MDR food was served cold n service so so
Rides : most ride were chargeable n why should we pay so much n get charged for all these rides .
Guest services : poor , advised that we don’t need arrival card upon arrival to ...
Be very careful when you choose an asian cruise like we did. We combined it with a China trip/Japan cruise and it was a nightmare. 4000 plus chinese pushing/shoving yelling etc. plus no shows /no proper western food/ excursions not as advertised. Getting on and off the ship was horrendous. There is no please/excuse me etc. It is just push and shove/and yell.
The dining in the buffet was all for ...
RC Quantum of the Seas
This ship is aimed solely at the Chinese market. There is no incentive for others to sail.
There were large number of chinese personnel and although some are helpful, the level of service is noticeably poorer and disorganised.
Food was of poor quality and choice, mainly chinese, all 4 complimentary restaurants served the same menu each night although the RC website ...
Everything was totally okay for me until I leave the cruise. So I need to register my credit card to make the payment during the trip more convenient. Then my credit card was charged one more time by RCL Quantum after my family finished this trip. Until now, already more than a month and I haven’t received my money back. I tried to call them but couldn’t connect. Emailed them so many times but ...
Quantum of the Seas from Shanghai
September 2018
We booked a six night tour of China, followed by an eight night cruise to Japan on Quantum of the Seas. The first part of the tour with Wendy Wu Tours was excellent. The problems with the cruise started even before boarding the ship.
I don't like to be negative, but there are things about this holiday that shouldn't be overlooked, if you ...
This was one of the worst cruise I have been on with Royal Caribbean. From the time we arrived at the port. We had to stand for a long period of time in the hot sun before we got to immigration. when it was eventually our turn after about 2 hours waiting, there seemed to be a problem with the visa we were told to get via email from royal Caribbean from the Chinese embassy and no one at the ...
We flew into Shanghai and were driven straight to the cruise port (previously arranged with 'China highlights' - who were excellent). We then had to stand in queues for nearly three hours to board the ship, so many processes. Normally its between 30 minutes and an hour, not so for this cruise, even though we are Emerald members and had booked a Junior suite. Once on board the ship itself is ...
