My husband and I decided on this cruise because it was so culturally immersive. We left out of shanghai and embarkation and disembarkation was a breeze. Make sure you write out the name of the cruise port in Chinese if your taking a taxi there because the drivers don’t know English. Also make sure they use the taxi meter so your not over charged. Embarkation : The worst check in experience so far . No queue control n poor signage leading to lot of confusion . No enough RCL in hand to direct queue .

If Royal Caribbean cared about their passengers, they would've made it clear that this cruise if for Mandarin speaking guests ONLY.

We chose this cruise as it covered a lot of ports that we had not preciously visited, plus it was a good price. However we found the number of passengers was more than comfortable for us. We were on a Cruise 1st combined China Land Tour and Japan Cruise. There were five buses of us and a further 4 buses of Trip-a-deal on the cruise. Be very careful when you choose an asian cruise like we did. We combined it with a China trip/Japan cruise and it was a nightmare. 4000 plus chinese pushing/shoving yelling etc. plus no shows /no proper western food/ excursions not as advertised. Getting on and off the ship was horrendous. There is no please/excuse me etc. It is just push and shove/and yell.

This ship is aimed solely at the Chinese market. There is no incentive for others to sail.
