First, we found the Millenium completely satisfactory, much the same as it was on our first cruise in 2009 in Australia. One need not worry about the condition of the ship. If one looks, you can see some rust or cracks here or there, but it is generally well-maintained and clean. We took the hotel private transport to the pier but was not allowed to be dropped off at the terminal itself. The guards wanted us to stop at the gate. Eventually, we 'negotiated' our passage and were allowed to drive all the way into the terminal for drop off. Embarkation in Shanghai was smooth although we were delayed for quite a bit. I was rally looking forward to this cruise from shanghai to Vancouver . Meant to be the trip of a lifetime. Our trip started really well with a good flight to Shanghai and two lovely days there in agood hotel.
