We are seniors from Florida with some mobility problems.  Since we are Elite Plus, that shows that we've done a lot of travelling with Celebrity.  Incidentally, the only added "plus" that Elite Plus over Elite seems to offer is unlimited cappuccinos and lattes, and since neither one of us drinks coffee, we were less than impressed.

We strongly agree with a previous reviewer about the staffing, particularly at the buffet.  The staff appears to be doing only busing of tables, and unless directly asked, no one offered to help people with walkers or canes.  We had no complaints about the food, either there or in the dining rooms, but several people from our assigned table obviously did not agree with us, as they spent most of the cruise at specialty restaurants (I don't understand why we have to pay extra when we've already spent so much on a cruise that supposedly includes decent food).

We were disappointed that very few of the shore excursions were geared to activity levels we could manage.  If it is true that longer cruises cater more to older cruisers, again, we don't understand the thinking.

If the ship was refurbished fairly recently, it was news to us, as we've never had so many niggle things go wrong on a cruise.  Our cabin was without heat for a day and a half, and we understood that others on our deck (concierge level, deck 8) did without for even longer.  The toilet died twice, the light went out in the bathroom, and one evening we couldn't get into the cabin.  One of the stewards said you had to "jiggle" the door, but he wound up by almost having to kick the door in to get it open.

The entertainment was actually better than usual, except for one magician who seemed to be on the level of children's birthday parties.  We enjoyed the enrichment activities, but did notice that some of the "facts" presented were inaccurate. 

Unfortunately, one of our first experiences on the ship was downright scary.  Our muster station for the lifeboat drill was Michael's Club, a space that was never intended to hold more than the 300+ people who were packed in there.  There was insufficient seating (for a lot of elderly people) and it quickly became unbearably hot.  Check-in was done manually with pencil and paper, instead of using cruise card readers.  Many of us couldn't even see the crew member who was demonstrating the way to put on a life vest--good thing we already knew how!  If public spaces were not big enough to accommodate everyone, then they should have done the drill in shifts.  We spoke to one of the officers about our concerns afterwards and he said he would bring it to the attention of the safety officer, but we never got any feedback.

As a matter of fact, we never got any feedback from anything we commented on.  Staff were very polite, but you never had the feeling that anybody (other than stewards or wait staff in the dining rooms, who worked their butts off) really were all that interested.  Officers were singularly invisible.
