The ship was nice and our steward was great. The bed was great for sleeping. Excursions were fairly good, but some were very poor. The food was average for cafeterias and restaurants. Manfredi's was a big disappointment. The Restaurant was the best experience overall for meals. There were a number of minor problems with coordination by Viking staff. But there was a big snafu during ...

My husband and I have long wanted to go to Alaska and we thought a small ship cruise was right for us. The ship was lovely as we would expect from Viking. The scholars were knowledgable and enhanced our understanding of the locations. The planetarium experiences were both fun and enlightening. There could have been more venues to get snacks other than room service during the evening hours. ...

We thought this would be a 5 star cruise but we were in for a surprise. There were numerous problems in various areas. We have done 3 Viking River cruises and enjoyed them all. So, we decided it was time to try a Viking Ocean cruise. First and foremost, Viking needs to have BETTER included excursions. In just about every port the included excursion was really no better than us getting off the ship to explore the little Alaska town we were in. In-fact, in Ketichikan we bought our own tickets to attend a ...

We had previous excellent experiences on Viking, enjoying especially the smaller size, afternoon tea service, sauna with snow room, and the superb food and drink. Unfortunately, they offered excursions which were generally a waste of time and money, in addition to their free, included shore excursions. For example, we booked an excursion for whale watching. Because of problems with that ...

We booked this cruise directly through Viking in November 2017 - 18 months prior to departure. We were advised at that time we could upgrade flights as soon as flights became available. We duly did this through Viking. They organised the flights on our behalf. Five weeks prior to departure for Seward, Alaska we were contacted by Viking and advised that we would need an earlier flight to get us to ...
