The cruise was outstanding. Meals were excellent. Cruise ship was immaculate. Enjoyed this cruise immensely. Viking is more expensive but no extra cost on the ship and includes a lot that other cruise ships charge for. The Prestine Alaska pre-cruise tour was great. 2 days in Fairbanks, 2 days in Denali, 2 days in Talkeetna and 2 days in Seward. This included most meals and several excursions. ...

we chose Viking because, as mature people we like their focus on "no kids, no casinos", assuming that they target individuals like ourselves. while the ship was impressive and the crew delightful, we traveled with a friend who has difficulty walking long distances, and Viking had NO options for him, nor did they respond--both before and during the cruise--to his requests for assistance. They ...

I had a credit from COVID and had never seen Alaska. Viking did a great job with everything. The food was outstanding - I only had one item I didn't love - the eggplant cannelloni! The guest lecturers were very informative and well-spoken. My only suggestion would be to move up the 6:30 lectures to 5:30 because I feel more people would attend. The cruise director, Heather ...

We chose this cruise because we always wanted to go to Alaska. For the first time we had Viking book our air and unfortunately United Airlines turned out to be a nightmare. We had to fly to Anchorage and then take a two hour bus ride to Seward where we met the Orion. We didn't arrive until late afternoon and at that point had no idea where our room was since we were not assigned a room. At 4 pm ...

We chose this cruise because Alaska was on our Bucket List of things to do and because we enjoyed our previous Viking River Cruise. As always, Viking does an excellent job of taking care of its passengers. The Deluxe Veranda room was wonderful--both clean and comfortable. And the restaurants were excellent!! Servers, Room Stewards, Guest Speakers are all top notch. For entertainment (as ...

Beautiful scenery except for the fog

We wanted to see glaciers, the calving of glaciers, visit the town, learn more about the culture, see totem poles, and enjoy the journey. Getting our luggage when we arrived in Anchorage was delayed. The port authorities (only two of them) took a few hours to check everyone's vaccines, etc. The scenery on the bus from Anchorage to Seward was spectacular. We didn't see much scenery because of heavy ...

We booked the Alaska cruise from Seward to Vancouver. The pros: 1.the excursions were interesting and well-run. Alaska is a beautiful and different destination. Whale-watching, glaciers, the small Alaskan towns, and the salmon returning up river were all lifetime memories. 2. The staff—universally cheerful, friendly and very competent. 3. The cabin—very clean and had all we ...

Alaska Did Not Disappoint

Always on our wish list to see Alaska, and we were drawn to the small ships Viking offered. The Orion did not disappoint. Beautiful ship, nice and new. Big enough to have plenty to do and places to go but small enough to enjoy without getting lost or having too many people on board. Dining was very good, whether it was One World Cafe or the main dining room. Manfredi's was tasty, could have ...

The ship and cabin were just as beautiful as marketed. Everything was clean and wonderfully maintained. The entertainment was very good. The facilities such as the spa and ice grotto are not to be missed. The housekeeping staff couldn’t have been more wonderful and attentive. In fact, all the staff were very friendly and professional. But…the staff, especially in the main buffet, ...

This was our third viking cruise but our first ocean one. The ship was wonderful, clean and set up similarly to the river boats only on a larger scale. Food was good, staff was wonderful Our housekeeping staff was excellent and attentive. I did feel that we did not have enough time in ports to explore the towns. On our stop in Ketchikan we were on an excursion from 8:30-12:30 and the ship pulled ...
